A 41-year-old Insiza man has been sentenced to 22 years in jail for shooting and robbing an illegal money changer 'usiphatheni'.

The robber, Mpumelelo Moyo and his accomplice Zama Tshuma, who is still at large, reportedly shot one of their victims on the knee before robbing him of R30 000 and $600.

"Unrepentant" Moyo pleaded not guilty to armed robbery and attempted murder but Bulawayo Regional Magistrate Mr Mark Dzira convicted him of both charges and sentenced him to 12 years in jail for armed robbery and 10 years for attempted murder.
