Massive water cuts in Bulawayo
05 Oct 2016 at 14:40hrs | Views
Bulawayo residents should brace for water shedding from November as water available at supp dams continue to dwindle.
According to council, water supplies would be cut for a day from as early as 7:30 in the morning to the next day in townships but industrial and central business district is exempted.
The water cuts would be skipped on Sundays.
However, councillors took a swipe at the Engineering Department for 'giving residents false hopes".
Suspended James Sithole said recently, the department indicated that "water volumes in the dams were sufficient and there was no likelihood of water shedding on the foreseeable future.
"Indeed the residents had been advised accordingly.
"In future the department should be more cautious when reporting the water situation and avoid giving false hope" Sithole is quoted saying before he was suspended.
