A Vic Falls man, Trust Ndlovu (32) who was reported missing at the beginning of this month was found hanging from a tree at the Hwange National Park.

Ndlovu of house number 6271 Chinotimba Township, is suspected to have committed suicide between 4 and 7 February.

Matabeleland North spokesperson Sergeant Eglon Nkala confirmed the incident, saying Ndlovu was found hanging from a tree in a bush.

He said Ndlovu's brother, Mr Prosper Tshuma (43), had reported him missing at Victoria Falls Police Station.

"Tshuma reported the matter to Victoria Falls Police Station on 4 February around 5pm when the now deceased could not be reached on his cellphone," said Sgt Nkala.

Ndlovu is said to have left his home without notifying anyone but phoned his brother telling him that he was leaving for Kazungula Border Post, which separates Victoria Falls and Botswana because he had a problem, which, however, he did not disclose to his brother.

"He phoned his brother and told him that he was leaving for Kazungula Border Post because he had a problem, switched off his phone and never returned," said Sgt Nkala.

Mr Tshuma teamed up with parks rangers and searched the national parks area and found his body hanging from a tree on 7 February at about 1pm.

"They carried a search in the national park and found his body hanging by a nylon rope from a tree.

"The body was in a decomposed state and no injuries were found on it. Further searches resulted in the discovery of a one metre role of wire in his trousers pocket," said Sgt Nkala.

"His body was sent for post-mortem at Victoria Falls Hospital but no foul play is suspected."
