There was untold horror yesterday at Kamunhu shopping center in Mabvuku when a woman believed to be Prophet Emmanuel Makandiwa's follower bought goods worth almost US$500 with money that reportedly changed into avocado leaves once it got into till operator's hands, the H-Metro reported.

The woman who was displaying her UFIC badge on her clothes, identified as Tambudzai Precious Chinyaka, purchased groceries worth US$415 at Mabvuku Spar and she brew a shocker when her US$500 miraculously turned into 5 avodaco tree leaves. This strange development almost made the till operator Netsai Baloyi faint!

Narrating the strange incident, Netsai said: "She bought groceries worth US$415 and she gave me the money which instantly turned into leaves. I was even shocked with the amount of groceries she was shopping and I even reminded her of the bill which she said was ok."

The security guard, who was clearing the woman's groceries, said he was also shocked to see the till operator being given something which resembled leaves and he moved closer and warned her.

Management at the shop ordered a temporary closure of the premises to avoid shop lifting and destruction of property as the raging public was itching to catch a glimpse of the woman.

The police had to be called to control the public and facilitate the transportation of the woman to the police station after a huge crowd had gathered outside the supermarket. A Prosec security truck had to speed off the woman, heading to the police station.

The woman appeared equally shocked and said she was not into juju but was a staunch Christian, a loyal member of UFI.

"I am equally shocked. I don't do juju. I go to UFI church and I was shocked to see that the money had turned into leaves. I do not know what happened," she said.

Asked on the source of the money, the unemployed woman remained mum but her child chipped in and revealed the source. "Mamha vanotemha mari mumuti (Mum's money grows on a tree)," shouted the toddler in front of the police.

Efforts to get a comment from the church's officials proved fruitless as they were said to be out of office and busy.

Apperantly when "H-Metro" News crew visited the church's Central Avenue offices and were interrogated before being told that the spokesperson identified as Pastor Kufa could not entertain the crew because he was busy and out of the office.
