Prophet Uebert Angel of the Spirit Embassy or Miracle TV says imposters are raising money through social media using his name.
Angel, who has risen from being a penniless pastor in the UK to a Bentley-driving Man of God in Zimbabwe in a space of a few years, said his followers should not lose their cash to such people masquerading on Facebook as him.
"It is the rule of Prophet Uebert Angel, Spirit Embassy or Miracle TV not to ask for money or funding from any person through Facebook, email, telephone or any other means. If in the future we undertake any fund raising activities, the message will be conveyed officially through Miracle TV."
A statement from Angel's church said : "Anyone asking for money whilst purporting to be Prophet Uebert Anghel or acting on his behalf is an imposter. Do not be robbed."
One of Angel followers said " Its true someone called Masasi Uebert Angel on Facebook on Facebook is demanding money from us, to contribute for the orphans."
Another said "Amen, he tried me and almost got me but God in His mercy broke down the communication."
Yet another said "Thank you for the sms Man of God...I encountered such person who claimed to be Prophet Angel..he kept sendin gud Godly sms eventually he said i shld donate to an orphanage home for me to get blessingz but sumthn withn me realised that its an imposter then i blocked him."
