A 19-YEAR-OLD teenager from Buhera was last week brutally murdered by infuriated four assailants who accused him of chasing them away from a Zion Church Service for making noise.

The quartet - Amato Kufa (33), Pride Mutodi (17), Savious Muchangani (23) and Talkmore Munhanga (22) - allegedly took turns to attack Eden Muzungu with their feet and wooden sticks resulting in him sustaining serious injuries.

He subsequently died a few days later.

Deputy Manicaland provincial police spokesperson Assistant Inspector Luxson Chananda confirmed the murder which happened in Chief Nyashanu's area.

He said out of the quartet, only Amato Kufa was arrested and was assisting them with investigations.

"On April 11, at around 8pm, Eden left home in the company of Prosper Chamisa (15), Tinashe Mahamate (15) and Tawanda Chitanda (16) to attend a Zion Church gathering at Nechawawa Secondary School.

"The four accused also joined in. When they arrived at the church service, an unidentified man told the four suspects to leave the church because they were making a noise. This, however, did not go down well with the quartet who in turn accused Eden of being behind their expulsion. Then a few minutes later they got hold of Eden and allegedly attacked him all over the body.

"Talkmore Munhanga allegedly assaulted him with a wooden stick several times," said Asst Insp Chananda.

Eden proceeded home and did not report the assault to the police or to any of his family members since no one was home.

On April 15, Eden started complaining of severe leg pains. When asked by his kinsmen where he had incurred the pain, he lied that he had fallen when he was herding cattle.

Asst Insp Chananda appealed to members of the public with information leading to the arrest of the three wanted persons to contact their nearest police station.
