A Harare prophet, Sham Hungwe who is selling 'anointed' pens for students has come under sharp criticism from politicians and journalists.

Hungwe operates from Machipisa Shopping Centre in the capital.

Some people called for the Prophet's arrest. Others said the essence of study might just have gone down the drain if such prophets are not nabbed.

Journalist Stanley Mushava said "Blessed love! The Holy Spirit is God. Anointing cannot be commodified because you can only set a price on it and put the Holy Spirit up for sell by making God finite and cheap.

"Peter, the Original Apostle rebuked a man who wanted to buy the anointing 'May you silver perish with you because you thought you could obtain the gift of God with money'."

Lenin Ndebele said: "For everyone writing exams from grace 7 to Master's degree level or even you provisional driver's license there is a prophet selling miracle pens to make you pass!. So if you get 20% in an exam you would not have paid enough! Easy money".

"This should not be allowed to go on! ~ Anyone who sells anything on the basis that it has supernatural powers must be arrested for fraud," said  Chofamba Sithole.
