My name is Alois Bunjira. I am not a Highlanders fan. Neither am I a Dynamos fan. So I was at Rufaro stadium yesterday when these two teams clashed.
Highlanders were leading 1-0 when the assistant referee showed that there would be 4 minutes to be added in injury time. Some Highlanders players started showboating and and some got injured (I wouldn't say feign because I was not on the pitch). After the 4minutes of injury time the referee decided to add 4more minutes and 13 seconds.
Now, the law says the referee is within his right to add the extra 4 minutes on top of the 4 minutes already added as injury time.
Remember no time is added for showboating.If the referee adds more time, he has to account for the time.
He can't just add time just because he feels like adding more time or because the game is interesting he could add more time..So,in my opinion, I didnt see any incident in the first 4 minutes of injury time that warranted an additional 4 minutes.
The game was on Supersport. I would be interested to rewatch the game step by step with the referee so that he can justify where he got the extra 4minutes on top of 4minutes injury time........ Like I said earlier, I am a fan of neither club but it would be interesting to see the referee justifying where he got the extra minutes.
They had the upper hand. Maybe they could have pressed for a second goal in those disputed extra 4minutes.......but then, yes, the game ends in 90minutes plus injury time and they believed the game was over when Dynamos eventually scored the equaliser.
I don't know if Highlanders put up a complaint but I am one guy who is interested to hear how the Referee accounts for the extra 4 minutes.
Maybe the first 4 minutes of injury time must just be replayed and we all can see where the other 4minutes came from and this debate can be closed.....
