Behind him we follow - Poem

Let us rally behind his similitude
Him who sacrificed his life and wealth for the people?
He is the only man who rose right at the edge of the grave
They wanted him dead
For being the oppressor's shining beacon
The people's light
Africa's hope
He who withstood any extreme apartheid heat
For all his courage, bravery
Perseverance, dedication and determination
Mandela held up, shouldered and endured the excruciating burden
For twenty seven year he fought the fierce battle
Got injured and crippled in the process
He defied power hungry geriatric pressure
He continued fighting endless unemployment rate
Crafted agricultural and industrial demise
The death of foreign investment and rampant corruption
He never rested
Until sanity returned in 'Mzansi'
Unbelievably, he is no more
He left a gigantic legacy
He was the centre that held the continent
Without you Madiba I foresee Africa slipping and losing its grip
Its fingers will pry and claw
Only to find nothing
For how long oh Mandela?
Shall this continent shack off the yoke of despotism?
May your legacy lead us to fight?
Africa's wounded buffalo?
Like a marching battle army, behind your advices we follow
Rest in peace Father Africa, rest in peace
