New Kindle book release 'Mmba Mama'

07 Jan 2013 at 10:41hrs | Views
"Mmba Mama" is one of the latest releases launched on Amazon Kindle. Written by Phindiwe Nkosi (27), a South African writer, "Mmba Mama" stems from an enduring indigenous South African term used to describe a gentle kiss from a child to a trusted and nurturing being. It calls out to purity, gentleness and a connection from the heart.

"This book attempts to record moments of love in this journey of life that are inspired by real-life stories of others who have had the privilege of loving and being loved straight from the heart. It records bonds formed by human hearts that transcend popular culture and socially constructed behavioural expectations," says Phindiwe.

One enters their space and listens to their heartbeats. The overlapping thread is that of regular people who overlook biological connections in search of something deeper that is only formed from within human hearts.

These stories – all instigated by some sort of true love letters forged by life – take us on an unpredictable journey. They surpass statistics, racial and geographical divides, and are not intended to comment on patterns and general outcomes. They are merely slices of life. Their significance lies not in the isolation or the other thereof, but merely in ordinary people faced with the extraordinary opportunity to love at all cost.

General FAQ:

Q: What inspired the book?
Phindi: In one word: "love". If you press me to continue, I would say life presented me with the extraordinary opportunity of loving beyond my biological means.

Q: Is this your first book?
A: No, I have recently launched another book (almost simultaneously) on Kindle. It is titled "Behind the Hospital" after the location (behind the hospital) that the body on my loved one was found murdered. To find out more about it, please go to http://www.amazon.com/author/phindiwenkosi.

Q: How did you come up with the title "Mmba Mama"?
A: "Mmba Mama" stems from an enduring indigenous South African term used to describe a gentle kiss from a child to a trusted and nurturing being. It calls out to purity, gentleness and a connection from the heart. It captures a special dear encounter between a mom and her beloved. There was no other title to best describe this book.

Q: Where are you from?
A: I was born and bred in South Africa. I currently live in Pretoria, Gauteng Province.

Q: When you are not writing, what do you get up to?
A: I enjoy splashing barefoot in rain puddles, snacking on biltong and spending precious time with family and close friends. I am a sucker for anything that has to do with nature and the serenity thereof.

Q: Can people share more stories with you?
A: Certainly! Let's connect online and exchange stories. It is always so wonderful to hear stories from readers. I am available on social media. Namely Facebook "Phindiwe Nkosi" (profile picture has a yellow flower), Twitter "@PhindiweNkosi" and http://www.amazon.com/author/phindiwenkosi.
