Donations sought to buy Patson Dzamara a new car

Harare - A crowd funding movement has been set-up by a well wisher based in the United Kingdom for the purpose of raising money to buy Patson Dzamara a $6387 (5,000 British pounds) vehicle to replace the one he owned prior which was burnt during an attack on him a few weeks ago.

Set-up by one Yolanda Richards, part of the plea reads "Patzon Dzamara is fighting our struggle. He continually risks his own life to fight on our behalf. I am sure you have all seen the recent post where he was abducted, beaten and left for dead and his beloved 'Struggle' burnt to the ground. It is time to do our bit Diaspora. It is the very least we can do. Even if you only have £1 to donate, do it! Please, please give what you can so we can get this man a 'Struggle 2' as he continues to fight on our behalf. He has already lost his brother and every single other asset he owns. We can do this... come on!"

Dzamara himself weighed in on the movement with a comment on social media, stating that, "HE PROMISED RESTORATION AND I UNAPOLOGETICALLY RECEIVE IT

I would love to take this opportunity to thank all those who have stood with me during the past few days as I grappled with a myriad of issues after being tortured and abducted by state security agents.

That austere incident invoked a plethora of theories and reactions, most of which I have no control over.

I have received communication from several individuals, most of whom I have no direct relationships with, expressing their willingness to assist me and I really appreciate that. Prayerfully and circumspectly, i have and and I am still considering each and every offer.

I have come to realise that as we take a stand against Mugabe's government misrule and failure, we touch and inspire others, at times silently. Others reach out to compliment or augment our efforts in various ways. It is important for me to stress that all the help being offered to me is voluntary, I have not asked these individuals to assist but they have felt compelled to do so. I am humbled by their compassion. I appreciate the help and whoever wants to help me in good faith is most welcome.

Only yesterday, I found out that some people i hadn't even talked to had set up a fund to assist me get another car. In as much as I do have my own personal reservations and arrangements to that effect, i found that humbling and welcome. I eventually managed to connect with the people and we are on the same page. This must not be about me but setting a precedence. My wish is for this to be a starting point towards setting up a professionally administered fund which is earmarked to support victims of state brutality in any feasible and pragmatic way. For all the men and women who put their lives in harm's way fighting for a better Zimbabwe, we can and we must help them in any practical way when they fall victims to the satanic regime led by Mugabe.

So, yes I have lost two cars in one and half years to ZANU PF but that has not extinguished the fire in me. The struggle for a better Zimbabwe continues. I have prayed to God for double restoration. He said in his word that, "I will restore to you the years that the swarming locust has eaten, the hopper, the destroyer, and the cutter, my great army, which I sent among you", Joel 2:25. He also promised to restore double to me, "Return to the stronghold, O prisoners who have the hope; This very day I am declaring that I will restore double to you", Zacharia 9:12.

The campaign has been received with mixed feelings, with some people claiming Dzamara arsoned his own vehicles so that he could get better ones. The vehicle he lost costs just above half of the money the movement is trying to raise. However, some have argued that it is only fair, given that this is the second vehicle he has lost under the same circumstances.
