If Welshman Ncube was Zezuru, he would long been deputy PM

THE High Court judgement against Author Mutambara has revealed a tribal conspiracy between dictator President Robert Mugabe and Prime Minister Morgan Tsvangirai who have frustrated Industry minister Welshman Ncube from being sworn-in as deputy prime minister.

Ncube was supposed to be sworn in as the DPM after he took over as MDC president and automatically became principal. But Mugabe's perpetual hatred of the Ndebele tribe was exposed after he protected Mutambara.

From early this year, the battle for the control of the MDC has been raging. But while Ncube mobilized his MPs to vote for Speaker of Parliament Lovemore Moyo, Tsvangirai turned against him when he wanted to psuh to be sworn-in as DPM.

Mugabe openly told Ncube that he didn't want him to be DPM. The reason simply he is NDEBELE. If Ncube was a Zezuru like Mugabe from rural Zvimba or a Karanga like Tsvangirai from the remote Humanikwa village in Buhera, he could have landed the top post.

Mugabe's passionate hatred of Ndebeles climaxed in the 1980s when he commandeered the notorious North Korean trained Fifth Brigade which killed over 20 000 civilians in the Midlands and Matabeleland while over 60 000 women were raped by the Shona speaking soldiers.

Ncube has tried in vain to be allowed attend the principals meetings but Mugabe and Tsvangirai's unholy alliance has kept the professor at law far from the echelons of power. However, a Bulawayo High Court Judge Justice Lawrence Kamocha ordered Mutambara, who hails from Chimanimani in Manicaland, to step down as a principal from the inclusive government and stop masquerading as MDC president.

Tsvangirai has described Ncube and his MDC counterparts as a bunch of tribalist simply because they opposed his dictatorial tendencies following the clash over the senate elections. Tsvangirai lost an MDC national council vote on the participation on senate elections in 2006, resulting in Ncube dumping the party to form a splinter organization.

This has generated enmity between Ncube and Tsvangirai, and reports of a coalition has been dismissed by both parties. Ncube has labeled Tsvangirai an uneducated leader who can never rule Zimbabwe while the premier insists that Ncube is just a tribalist.

But the actions by Mugabe and Tsvangirai show that they are keen on maintaining a Shona dominance in Zimbabwe.
