Fears of political brutality and violence as ZAPU spokespersons child briefly disappears.

There are fears the nation could witness an early start to political violence and retributions as ZAPU's National Spokesperson Iphithule Maphosa's school going child briefly disappeared on Tuesday this week.

According to information from an SOS that was raised by the family and ZAPU party, the child did not return home as expected after school and the family went into panic mode and spent all night searching for the child.

The child, who is nine years old, was later to be found on Wednesday morning but the circumstances around the matter remain unclear to the outside world. When asked for a comment, Maphosa said he is not at liberty to discuss with the media a mishap to a fellow family member since he is not the family spokesperson, before advising this reporter to get in touch with his elders if there is real need for comment.

The country's opposition movements, ZAPU included and civic society organizations recently registered fears the upcoming elections may be violent as a cornered ZANU PF regime has only one tactic left at its disposal to remain in power-which is violence, retributions and blackmail. ZANU PF is blamed for numerous unsolved disappearance cases since independence.

These fears were somewhat confirmed by the reaction to the child's disappearance by ZAPU, which quickly set up a huge search team that was led by high ranking party officials Ndodana Moyo, who is Deputy National Organizer and Patrick Ndlovu, another official in the information department of the party. They physically were on the ground leading search teams and the news of the disappearance went viral on social media platforms. This was synonymous with a party which could not take any chances with the development affecting the party spokesperson.
