Who is working?
01 May 2017 at 13:49hrs | Views
It's a shame for Zanu-PF to be celebrating the worker's day actually it's a big embarrassment in our country to have more than 95% of the population not working. Day and night politicians are busy fighting for political space in the media instead of working hard for the people who voted for them. There is so much talk about succession when more than 5 million people are surviving on less than a dollar per day. Something must be done urgently to avoid a civil crisis spilling into the SADC region because of lack of priorities and misplaced values.
Harare central business district and all other towns are flooded with vendors because people have no other means of survival other than vending. The national pride has been taken away from us, from once a bread basket nation to a poverty basket nation. Zimbabwe of recent has been rated as the poorest nation in the world. Our country has been thrown to dogs and what an embarrassment in the region.
There is nothing to celebrate, if you go to town today the whole town is flooded with vendors trying to seek means of survival. We really need to knock sense in our leadership, that future of the current generation has been destroyed by selfish politicians who do not want to admit that in deed they have failed to run this country.
Bond notes have vanished on the market and as we speak there will be resurgence of the zim dollar, and there will be turmoil in this country. This country has no direction, we do not even know where we are going, and the country has lost its direction. We have more than 5 million Zimbabweans who have migrated to other countries and some have been displaced because of high poverty levels.
Who cares?
No one cares about the current situation. People should be ashamed that we have a country with over 3000 graduates from state and private universities every year but nothing has been achieved because majority of them are now vendors. The current Government promised 2.2 million jobs that by 2018 they would have created those jobs but as we speak there is absolutely nothing and people are watching. So long they have fed their families and relatives as for the majority they will see it for themselves.
This is a country with high level of corruption and no one has been arrested. ZIMDEF funds disappeared at the hands of ministers nothing materialised, willovale scandal was there for everyone to see nothing happened, during the tenure of Kumbirai Kangai GMB was brought down nothing happened, we have war veterans funds which were abused by people who never went to went war nothing happened.
Our production capacity is dead as we speak, why then do we borrow funds from unknown investors when details of the deals are not even in the public domain? Why should the Government sign mega deals without involving the civic society, public, and parliament? I think we have a sleeping opposition or they have been bought to an extend that there can no longer provide balance and checks for our beloved country. Our coffers are in a mess, our public expenditure is in disarray. We lack competence as far as the system is concerned. We have a bloated Government which is chewing the fiscus and draining a lot from the revenues we have.
Most of these senior government officials cannot even account for their wealthy they have. We need a better Zimbabwe with a future ahead of us. We have a bloated cabinet comprising of 32 ministries for what? Do we have a reason why those additional ministries were created? We need a leadership with real conscience to address the plight of ordinary Zimbabweans. Most Zimbabweans are getting paid after 3 months and some are even going to the extent of six months without salaries and should we say we are under captivity or slavery or bondage?
Can this be true that one person is owning 13 million hectors of land in Zimbabwe when majority of Zimbabweans are squatting and no one can believe this? We have politicians grabbing companies, land and nothing has happened to them. They do not even look at the future of our children, what have they done with companies they have grabbed? Nothing.
Most of these greedy and selfish and heartless politicians they have grabbed mines and minerals and they have ran down most of these companies because of lack of technical expertise in those areas. The so called land reform programme benefitted the political elite and connected and to the rest of Zimbabweans they have nothing. Zimbabweans are languishing in poverty and for one to say this leadership will be given another 5 year mandate is a nightmare in the face of Zimbabweans.
Politics aside this country has been brought to its knees, we have nothing to talk about, and Zimbabweans are suffering. Please give us a break and do something about it.This Government should be accountable for the mess they have dragged everyone into. Most of these gurus they go overseas for their holidays whilst the majority have been reduced to destitute which is very unfair.
For now we can say to put this to closure there is nothing to celebrate as a nation, we have been reduced to nothing. Leaders should be ashamed period.
