No single individual, group, or political party can fight an entrenched dictator alone

Naivety and insanity have taken hold of the Zimbabwean people who continue to think that ZANU PF will willingly carry a free, fair and credible election. We expected the Opposition Parties to stand up and do something, but have suddenly realized that we have token opposition parties that have been allowed to exist to give the despotic regime a veneer of democratic legitimacy. What should we do under such circumstances? stand aside and look?
I say time has come to call a spade a spade. Just ask yourselves people when you saw things getting worse what did you do as a people? When the ZANU PF leadership failed, what did the Zimbabwean Opposition leadership do? I am not here to be a ZANU PF apologist or seek to mislead people but to speak the truth and nothing but the truth. The country is in the situation it is today not because of ZANU PF leadership failure. Zimbabwe is where it is because of our own inaction. Very disappointing right that someone will say that?
We had an opportunity to map out our future during the Constitutional Draft, what did we do? An important document that could have changed lives of generations to come was mishandled and the opportunity squandered. For starters, why did we give the same people whom we say failed us the responsibility to make sure that reforms were implemented? Did we really do our homework? That by itself really shows me that we have an uninformed majority that has no clue as to what is going on. Unfortunately, we are quick to point fingers at every chance we get but fail to see where the problem is.
ZANU PF is not the problem but the people of Zimbabwe are. Zimbabwe is not for ZANU PF but for you and me however, we outsourced our responsibility and left the contractor (ZANU PF) to make decisions on our behalf. We claim the highest literacy rate in the region but sadly we cannot read or write. We have ZANU PF critics everywhere but all these critics lack foresight.
It is sad for me to say but there is no opposition in Zimbabwe. An opposition movement is an outfit that knows how to strategize against the tyranny. The despotic regime will never negotiate themselves out of power. The despot has many strategies up his sleeve that include setting up token opposition parties, identifying obstacles and bribing them, sprucing his image.
To remove a despot from power, we need vision, organization, and timely actions. I decry our actions as a nation. We had an opportunity to RESEST the game but we froze with the finger on the trigger, Mai vangu imi, kurara zvedu nezamo mumukanwa. We must have set the implementation of electoral reforms on time. The people voted and when the YES majority won the Constitutional Draft, at 12:00am that morning that should have been the Implementation day. We claim the highest literacy rate but we cannot read or write, what a bunch of fools? We really think RG Mugabe will sign his power away, let us think again. How many times did he clearly say a pen is not going to be mightier than the gun? We seriously think he will hand over what he had sleepless nights for? Honestly people, we think ZANU PF will beg any opposition political party to take power because they have presided over the highest inflation rate ever known to human kind in the world? They simply don't care, as long as they have what they want, they are quick to tell you to go hang.
Let me be clear, ZANU PF will not let any political formation get away with what ZANU PF is getting away with and that's what I call being on top of the game. Did you catch that? Do I need to repeat? Real leaders will provide alternatives. They do not beg for a chance from their rival but boldly or forcefully take charge. If you have the vision to see that the country is going down, you do not wait for 2018 election to do something especially when you know very well that nothing really changed from 2013 as far as the political landscape is concerned. The time is now to say we cannot take this for another day. What else explains unbearable? Banks have no money, people have no jobs and almost all our graduates are reduced to street vendors. How on earth do we have a Reserve Bank Governor who presides over a bank without its own currency? A friend of mine shared an audio with me that I heard this, "Zimbabwe will never be a colon again". Really?
How did we let things get this bad? If Zimbabwe is to change, we the people of Zimbabwe must do something. We are at a crossroad here and have some tough choices ahead of us. We can choose to be patient forever, we can choose to do nothing or whine until the end of times. Let us do something now and boldly declare that Zimbabwe will never be a colon again, for it will forever be true that Zimbabwe will never be a colon again:
When she has her own currency.
When unemployment rate in the country is ZERO
When our hospitals have medicine
When our industries are making products that are on demand on the world market
When our education/universities are no longer producing hardware vendors
When our leaders are chosen on merit, their ideas and not by how many huts they put on fire or lives they destroy.
