'Nothing beats dialogue,' Tsvangirai tell Khupe - after the physical beating she got, she knows better

"This alliance is a far bigger vision than the individual political parties that are in it. In our individual parties, we may have disputes, we may have differences, but nothing beats dialogue," said Morgan Tsvangirai at the launch of the MDC Alliance in Bulawayo.

"That is leadership. Even if you disagree with me, the first basis you must understand is that nothing beats dialogue. As we move to a new Zimbabwe led by the alliance, you will see that there will be squabbling here and there. Some of the disputes will be informed by individual personal interests."

Tsvangirai was disappointed at the absence of MDC-T VP Thokozani Khupe and her supporters.

Dialogue! What does Tsvangirai know about dialogue? His idea of dialogue is he talking at you until the cows come home. If you still dare disagree with him, he will send his thugs to beat you up and pretend it was CIOs who beat you. If there is a free vote on the matter and he loses the vote, he will disregard the vote.

Former USA Ambassador to Zimbabwe, Chris Dell, said Tsvangirai was "a flawed figure" who was "not readily open to advice, indecisive and questionable judgement in selecting those around him," according to Wikileak report.

The Ambassador has been proven right a thousand times and a thousand times again.

Tsvangirai is not clever, some people have even gone as far as calling him a village idiot, but this is combined with his inability to listen and take advice; this has made him a downright dangerous leader. He has led the MDC and the nation from one blunder into another with disastrous consequences.

Tsvangirai has wasted the last four year pursuing this grand opposition coalition, for example, although he has been told again and again and again that this is an unnecessary distraction. Whether next year's elections result deliver the meaningful democratic change the nation is dying for will depend on one thing and one thing only - the elections must be free, fair and credible. And to be certain the elections are free and fair, we must implement the democratic reform designed to stop Zanu PF rigging the vote.

The decision to contest next year's elections with no reforms in place is political madness - forget this MDC Alliance, because it will never do anything to stop the vote rigging. This is unforgivable madness given that MDC leaders are making the same mistake they made in 2013 when they disregarded SADC's warning not to contest.

David Coltart, a former MDC senator and minister in the GNU, he his shed some new light on why MDC leaders disregarded the SADC leaders' advice and contesting flawed 2013 elections - greed.

"The worst aspect for me about the failure to agree a coalition was that both MDCs couldn't now do the obvious - withdraw from the elections," explained Senator Coltart in his book.

"The electoral process was so flawed, so illegal, that the only logical step was to withdraw, which would compel SADC to hold Zanu PF to account. But such was the distrust between the MDC-T and MDC-N that neither could withdraw for fear that the other would remain in the elections, winning seats and giving the process credibility."

Whilst everyone still agrees that with no reforms in place Zanu PF will rig next year's elections so why is the MDC Alliance not talking of "doing the obvious - withdraw from the elections", to use Coltart's argument! It was not the failure to form a coalition in 2013 that stopped the opposition from boycotting the flawed elections, as Coltart state, it was greed.

The MDC coalition back in 2013 would have wanted the winnable gravy train seats shared but would have contested the flawed elections regardless. The MDC Alliance has come up with the formula for sharing out the seats the question of boycotting the elections does not even arise.

As long as the opposition has a chance of winning a few gravy train seats they will come up with all manner of excuses why they must disregard all advice not to contest the flawed and illegal elections. The opposition will never demand the implementation of the democratic reforms to ensure free, fair and credible elections; this is now a well-established historic fact and reality.

It is now for the people of Zimbabwe themselves to fight both Zanu PF and the opposition by demanding the implementation of reforms BEFORE elections.

"If you go into elections next month, you are going to lose; the elections are done," SADC leaders warned Tsvangirai & co. against contesting the 2013 elections with reforms. The warning is even more relevant today regarding next year's elections, they too "are done"! Tsvangirai & co disregarded SADC leaders' warning in 2013 and they are doing so again today because their eyes, minds and souls are fixated on winning the gravy train seats.

Tsvangirai is "not readily open to advice and is indecisive" at his receptive best; he is immovable when he is caught in the floodlight of the gravy train lifestyle promise. Holding a dialogue with him at such times is a complete waste of time. He will contest next year's elections come rain come sunshine regardless how flawed and illegal the process gets; not even if millions of ordinary Zimbabweans are once again denied the vote, frogmarched to vote for Zanu PF and/or hundreds are beaten, even murdered in cold blood.

"Even if you disagree with me, the first basis you must understand is that nothing beats dialogue," Tsvangirai told VP Thokozani Khupe.

Nothing beats dialogue; after all the physical beating she and her supporters received a few weeks ago, she will not be so easily duped. It is therefore little wonder that she and her followers did not attend MDC Alliance launch in their own backyard! Tsvangirai asking for dialogue; that is rich coming from someone renowned for taking advice from no one because he talks at everyone and listens to no man or woman!
