Mugabe fires Mnangagwa for 'disloyalty' - how ironic, after 37 years of doing tyrant's dirtiest laundry

07 Nov 2017 at 02:06hrs | Views
Emmerson Mnangagwa has been sacked as VP because he was "disloyal" to Mugabe. Of all the tyrant's thugs, henchmen, cronies and sycophants no one has been more doggedly and foolishly loyal to Mugabe than Mnangagwa. The man has done Mugabe's dirtiest laundry - stuff many people would rather be shot than even touch with a ten-metre pole, Mnangagwa has washed with his bare hands. If there was justice this side of the grave for Mugabe then he should have been hanged years ago for all his corruption and the innocent blood he has shed in office and the one Zanu PF thugs who deserved to be hanged alongside the tyrant is Mnangagwa, the man who carried out the tyrant's orders without ever flinching!

For Mugabe to accuse Mnangagwa of being disloyal to him is the irony of ironies!

Mnangagwa is being booted out of the VP post because by virtue of him being there, he is in poll position in the rat race to be Mugabe's successor. Grace Mugabe wants to succeed her husband and so Mnangagwa must go. There have been two attempts to kill him ever since his appointment as VP three years ago, no doubt the failed assassinations have a great disappointment. Given the frailty of Robert Mugabe, the tyrant must have felt he does not have the time to arrange another assassination and hence dismissed Mnangagwa on frivolous and outrageous charges.

What concerns any thinking Zimbabwean out there is not so much that Mnangagwa has been booted out - that is theatrical justice and of all the Zanu PF thugs, beside the tyrant himself, Mnangagwa deserves to face justice this side of the grave - is that Mugabe continues to rule this country as if it was his personal property to do with as he alone sees fit. Zanu PF is imploding because ever since he took over the leadership of that party he has never allowed anyone else to have any meaningful say in how the party would be run much less who led it.

There have been very few Zanu PF party elections and he has always seen to it that his name was the only one in the hat for the top job. So, instead of party members electing the leader it has always been a coronation, his coronation. He then saw to it that he appointed those below him and the party was then asked to rubber stamp his choices. He has done the same thing at national level or with more blatant ruthlessness and contemptuous disregard of povo's freedoms and basic human rights.

Mugabe is a corrupt, incompetent and murderous tyrant but it is his insatiable greed for absolute power, he is a megalomania, and wealth, his wife reckless spending of second to none, that he set him apart. Even after being president for 37 years Mugabe, not that he accomplished anything of note - the truth is he has been a curse to the nation as he has brought economic ruins and murdered over 30 000 to establish and retain his de facto one-party cum one-man dictatorship - yet his desire to clings on to power is even stronger than ever.

Zanu PF is imploding because Mugabe would not allow an orderly handover of power to someone else. The factional war which saw the booting out of Joice Mujuru and now Mnangagwa is a result of him framing these two to justify booting them out so he can continue as leader of the party whilst preparing the way for his wife to take over from him. Mugabe has shown that he would rather drag Zanu PF into the abyss than let someone else take his place. Sadly, that is exactly what he has done and worse, he has dragged Zimbabwe into the abyss too!

Under Mugabe's rule, unemployment has soared to nauseating heights of 90%, basic services like clean running water, health and education have all but collapse, 72.3% of our people now live on US$1.00 or less a day. Zimbabweans are now the poorest people in Africa! But instead of doing something to address these very serious and urgent national economic problems; Mugabe has been preoccupied with his party's factional war, dreaming up false charges to justify booting out Mnangagwa and his followers. How sick is that!

The Zanu PF dictatorship must be cut down, uproot and burnt so that there is no chance of the system rising and ruling this nation ever again. To be 100% certain that we have rid this nation of dictatorial rule, we need to implement all the democratic reforms BEFORE the next elections. As long as the elections go ahead with no reforms in place Zanu PF, whichever faction prevails after the implosion, will rig the vote and stay in power to regroup.

If we cannot stop these elections going ahead, given the opposition's iron resolve to contest the elections regardless how flawed and illegal the process happened to be, we must make sure the results are declared null and void.

Zimbabwe has paid dearly for allowing Mugabe create and retain this corrupt and tyrannical Zanu PF dictatorship for all these last 37 years. He is determined to install his wife Grace as the country's next dictator. We can stop him dead in his tracks by making sure the next elections are free, fair and credible!
