What Jonathan Moyo and Kasukuwere are telling us about the rule of Mnangagwa

If you want to know what Zimbabwe is going to be like with E.D.Mnangawa as president, read this article right to the end. I will make two assumption, both of which I believe are correct. The first is: It is no longer a question of will Mnangagwa take over as president but now a question of when will that happen. The second assumption is: Mnangagwa is directly involved in everything that the military is current doing ie he orders it or at least sanctions it.
In most countries, if you apply for a bank loan, they look at your credit score first. They look at what money you borrowed in the past, whether you actually paid it back and whether you paid back your instalments on time. With these facts, they allocate you a score. If you were good, you get a high score and they lend you more whereas if you defaulted on your payments , they give you a low score and refuse to lend you any more money. The basis of this concept is that your past behaviour will predict your future behaviour. As we are all aware, Mnangagwa's past is not clean, as he was involved in Ghukurahundi and many other things. There are some who now say that he is a changed man and is now a statesman.
Has he really changed now? This can be determined by how he is going to treat the "chief enemies of the state" ie Jonathan Moyo and Saviour Kasukwere. Grace is likely to be okay because she is Mrs Mugabe. If Jonathan and Saviour are either tortured or killed, this is an indication of what will happen to any Zimbabwean who will be seen as an "enemy of the state" under the new dispensation. If however they are not physically touched and are given a fair trial, then Zimbabweans you will at least have one reason to rejoice. The behaviour shown to these two today will be a barometer to the behaviour that will be extended to all of you tomorrow. It will show you whether you will still be living in fear of saying something against the government and end up in jail. It will be a window to how active the CIO will be in the new dispensation and how much freedom you are going to have.
The mantra in truly democratic countries is "Let the minds meet but keep the fists down". Zimbabwe should be a country where different ideologies can be held and discussed without fear of anything physical being done to you. Zimbabwe, watch what happens to Jonathan Moyo and Saviour Kasukwere and that will tell you your future.
