Cainos Chingombe deserves town clerk post

It is a very disappointing thing that Kasukuwere and the Local Government Board which has the political muscles and influence of who should occupy the town clerk post for have disappointed the whole nation by delaying the appointment of a suitable and qualified person who can deliver best results.I think the new President should work on such things.
Why would the appointment of a town clerk take so long? It has been more than 2 years without a substantive Town Clerk.
My question is what is the problem? Today I have been going through the short listed candidates who were forwarded to the local Government board for approval and it was quite interesting.
I think it is high time our institutions should be occupied by competent people who can deliver best results.
When I was going through the list of candidates I came across one interesting individual who deserves respect in this country and his is none other than Dr Cainos Chingombe the recent graduate from University of Lusaka, Zambia.
The man has vast experience both in private and public sector.
I was having few discussions with few people in the Harare town council before penning this article and they clearly told me that the man deserve the post.
Through the selection process I think few issues were not properly handled, honestly I think Kasukuwere was right, when he raised the flag over the name of Tapiwa Mashakada for the town clerk post, to me it was not politically correct.
Mashakada is a learned professor, who also doubles as the advisor to the Former Prime Minister of Zimbabwe, Dr Morgan Tsvangirai in the economic affairs portfolio, so my question will then be why did Mashakada apply for this job knowing that he is purely a politician and at the same time this job requires a professional who is not inclined to any political entitlement, to me he deserve the post if he was outside political matrix.
The same applies to Chanakira who used to own a bank, why would Chanakira stoop so low to go to town House, is it for national interest or it is for personal interest? No one knows, but raises a lot of questions, given the questions raised over the way he handled funds in his acquired bank.
For none among those short listed I think Cainos Chingombe deserve this post for town clerk.
Remember he is also the Human Resource Director for the same institution and he is already in the system and it is an advantage to him. He has served in the town council for 28 years.
He holds a PHD in Governance and Leadership from Zambia, he also holds a PHD in business Leadership from Aldersgate University. He also holds a PHD in Common Wealthy Open University.
He holds three Masters Degrees in Leadership and change from Leeds University, public administration and educational management. He has several professional courses. To me I think this is the best guy for the top job.
We have a problem of political inclination, we have so many people out there who can deliver best results but because of politics, it's very difficult for them to serve in such areas. I think the Local Government Board should consider this man. We need sanity at town house and huge budgets in such areas require experienced people who can deliver best results.
The other challenge is selections of candidates have been hit by corruption, and I think all things being equal, they need to consider such people. Hopefully the local Government Board will review the list and consider our submissions.
