President please stop the rot at Bindura university

President Emmerson Mnangagwa please could you attend to our plight as urgently as you can? In Bindura, there is a State University of Science Education which is headed by a gentleman who has well documented cases of corruption and nepotism. This gentleman was said to have been under investigation for corruption according to the Financial Gazette sometime in June 2017. The outcome of that investigation was either suppressed or blatantly ignored.
The levels of corruption and nepotism at the institution has reached alarming levels. The man brought in his wife to the institution without the latter being interviewed as is expected of all employees. As if that was not enough he is now forcing the Department to which the lady was imposed to promote her to the position of Senior Lecturer despite the fact that the lady has a Bachelor of Science in Political Science and Administration, an MBA and a PhD in Church leadership which qualifications are not suitable for teaching in the Masters' degree in Business Leadership (MBL) where the lady in question is stationed. The MBL programme is a part-time programme yet this lady together with two other gentlemen are full time members of staff. Is it fair that one brings their wife to come and sit while earning a full time salary when she does not hold relevant qualifications and is supposedly doing part-time work? Is the government aware that money is being abused through paying people who will be doing absolutely nothing like this? Does this not go against the new trajectory promulgated by the President and the Minister of Finance's quest for streamlining costs?
The same Vice Chancellor not so long ago was championing the misplaced glorification of the former first lady and was even the one who came up with the idea of printing T-shirts for the function which was then fortunately never held. To score points with the lady, he had even attempted to compel lecturers to attend that interface rally. The lecturers refused to participate in that. It came as a shocker to many people to see the same Vice Chancellor all of a sudden pretending to be in support of the new President who is against corruption. Your Excellency, please be wary of these chameleonic individuals who would want to charm their way into your trust especially those who have been engaging in graft for a very long period of time.
Perchance this Vice Chancellor was not being brought to book on account of his political leanings then, that is, the G40 cabal. One wonders why the then Minister of Higher Education was not curtailing the vice of this Vice Chancellor! He, with impunity, engages in unnecessary legal battles with staff, students and other stakeholders. Just yesterday, a University bus as well as two trucks were about to be attached by the Messenger of Courts for refusal to pay an architect who designed some structures at the University. While all that was happening, the Vice Chancellor was busy abusing the meagre University funds by buying a bogus award for Education Leadership where 21 of those gullibly hungry for recognition individuals were said to have "won" the award which he "won" previously in 2015 in Mauritius. Strange enough the said award's keynote address was delivered by the erstwhile Minister of Tourism and the former Minister of Higher Education also "won" an award from the same institution in 2015. This G40 cabal's scheme of pretending to be winning awards when they were or are using the country's scarce resources should not be allowed to continue unabated. The former Minister of Higher Education was so busy protecting his young "brother" in crime to the extent that he even stuffed the University with Councillors who are either unqualified or too timid to be useful. The former Minister even went to the extent of imposing a Council Chairman who is his daughter's boss and is clueless on how institutions of this nature are governed who holds a Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Economics from Nigeria, not that Nigeria is material to this discussion, but simply put this Chairman is incompetent. It seems the appointment of this Chairman was part of a well-orchestrated grand scheme to ensure that this corrupt Vice Chancellor will be forever protected despite his depravity. Could you please force the Ministry of Higher Education to publicize the Report on the Corruption of the Vice Chancellor? Funny enough the G40 appointed University Council also has as its Vice Chairperson some wife of a former short-lived G40 Minister!
The University is being run down by this immature person who thinks that he can fool those in power by pretending to be in support of them thereby entrenching his stay at the helm of the Unversity. Students and staff are so demoralized and demotivated especially so after being chucked out of a bus that was ferrying them to an examinations as the bus was about to be attached by the Sheriff's Department. This man is obnoxious to say the least as he unrestrainedly abuses power while pretending to be so powerful whenever he feels he has acquired power. He has sent out eviction notices on those of us in University accommodation citing that the reason for our eviction is that we do not hold PhD degrees yet there are University houses that have gone for years without occupants since the last round evictions that this greenhorn effected on staff. The situation has been made worse by the useless University Council that was appointed by the former Minister of Highers Education. I do not think the Council members, apart from the Chair and his Deputy even hold degrees at all. If that is so, would it be proper for those who do not holder at least a degree to be the ones providing strategic oversight of a University?
Your Excellency, please could you attend to the issues that are bedevilling the University as a matter of urgency? You are the Chancellor of this University and do not be fooled by this Vice Chancellor who has always been a part of Grace Mugabe's protectorate. I would implore you to go after facts and nothing but facts! This immature man is a liar and even has no shame as he calls himself a Reverend in spite of his many unthinkable acts that make him dishonourable.
