Mnangagwa's modern day Sadduces and Pharisees
26 Dec 2017 at 12:06hrs | Views
Revolutionary greetings dear comrades. There is no opponents of progress in the bible than the Sadduces and Pharisees. They criticised everything good done by Jesus Christ. Furthermore, they prayed at crossroads and opened places for people to see them. Everything they did was for self-exhortation and justification. They loved parading their good deeds before the people and acting holier than thou. Yet in reality they were not by an inch better than the angels of darkness.
The recent mundane acts of Mnangagwa and his wife have passed into the currency of historical writing meant only to exhult them into gods of humility and good governance. However, the bluntness of these acts is always culculated and the good story nearly always told with an immediate and precise political purpose. The acts of the Mnangagwa's are magnified by his backyard journalists not because they are true, but because they are what they want the audience believe is true.
These unadulteratedly mundane acts are meant to minister to his uniqueness as a leader and make him an antithesis of Robert Gabriel Mugabe. For the people of Zimbabwe to believe that the Mnangagwa's are humble and a breed apart is a major error of historical interpretation. Thus, only the most credulous will subscribe to the rebirth of the holy Mnangagwa's. Such credulous people are very dangerous because through their vote, they can sanitise the leadership of the Mnangagwa's.
What is important for the Zimbabweans to understand is that Mnangagwa did not have two characters, a warlike aggressive one before the 2017 soft coup and a peaceful humble one after the soft coup. The second post soft coup character is pseudo character that is meant to fool the electorate into believing that he is a born again polician worth their votes. In reality Mnangagwa is still the same ruthless warlike character whose unscrapulous political manoeuvres are for self aggrandisement.
On several occasions, he used the army when it became impossible to achieve his narrow and selfish political objectives without it. The army is an instrument in his hand that he uses at will. He used it in Gukurahundi massacres (1982-1997), in 2003, 2008 and 2013 elections to precipitate upon the masses terror of the worst magnitide. I therefore, argue that Mnangagwa is still the same selfish, warlike, ruthless and egocentric tribalist. He wholly subscribes to an economy of blood and iron.
He is trying too hard to fool the electorate. However, very soon it shall be clear that he is still the same old deceiful character. Truly, a leopard will never change its spots. Mnangagwa is therefore, chameleonic by nature. He assumes a pseudo character to suit his present political environment. His real character is ingrained in his dark heart.
Those that dare believe his 'born again' rhetoric have learnt nothing and forgotten nothing. They have not learnt about his ruthless warlike character and they have not forgotten the massacres he committed from 1982 to 2017. They have not learnt that a coup is an unconstitutional act. They still have not forgotten that he rode on the army to his current presidential position.
Going to church, hospitals, bank etc have since become newsworthy to his backyard ill-tutored journalists. They can not grasp the modern ABCs of journalism hence they degenerate into feeding the audience mundane news. Very soon we will hear that Mnangagwa went to the restaurant and refused to use fork and knife and used his hands. This has nothing to do with economic recovery. It has nothing to do with creating employment for the youth.
In his 30 days in power he has failed to resuscitate the ailing economy. He failed to push for the devolution provision. He instead chose to disrespect the voice of the people by illegally appointing provincial ministers.
The country is still cash strapped. He has failed to ease cash flow. The increase of the prices of basic commodities proves beyond doubt that Mnangagwa has not changed. He is still very inconsiderate and a selfish shadow of Mugabe.
Mnangagwa is dead silent on the Gukhurahundi issue. It is public knowledge that he is a perpetrator and therefore, will do anything and everything to derail justice. Justice delayed is justice denied. He is also mute on the election reforms. The 2018 elections are around the corner and as opposition we expect him to engineer electoral reforms as a roadmap to free and fair elections.
The state media is still Zanu Pf propaganda tool. In an ideal democracy state media is used by both the ruling party and the opposition to reach out to the electorate. As opposition we expect Mnangagwa to give the opposition parties a fair share of airtime in the state media. Thus, state media can not be unilaterally exploited by the ruling party as a platform to disseminate its propaganda.
The new president is the champion of talking the walk. We expect him to walk the talk. He promised to root out corruption in the country. One wonders how a demon possessed man can pretend as an exorcist? Its high time those in high public offices declare their assets. On the other hand, a proper land audit must be done so that those with multiple farms can shed them off for a transparent land redistribution programme. Whites that still wish to practice agriculture in Zimbabwe must be leased the farms. Giving back farms to the whites is a shortsighted move that seeks to reverse the gains of independence.
Zimbabweans let us stop being credulous and indulge in deep thinking. Let us refuse consuming cheap self exhultation news about our leaders. The everyday acts of the president do not amount to sacronsact news and can not be interpreted to great achievements. Greatness of a man is not measured by his minor mundane acts, but by great things he has done for his people. Mnangagwa has done totally nothing for his people hence he has a long way to go for us to subscribe to his self championed myth that he is a born again leader.
Mnangagwa has done nothing to change the plight of the Zimbabweans. He cares less about their voice. All he cares about is parading himself as a humble leader who is willing to share in the plight of the general men. This indeed is a creation and recreation of self championed myth. It is a creation of a pseudo legend which will be cast into permanent form in his memoirs whose chief aim would be to prove that all his predecessors and successors were poitical dwarfs, and that political wisdom was born in Zimbabwe with his accession to power and will die with his decline.
I submit that Mnangagwa has to do more than mundane acts for us to believe he has changed. He has to address the Gukurahundi question, create employment, ease cash flow, make electoral reforms, push devolution agenda and reduce escalation of the prices of basic commodities. When he starts working torwards achieving the above concerns, then his backyard journalist can start procucing news about his acts. Failure to that, they must stop polluting the news with useless mundane acts of the president.
Victory is certain, allutta continua.
