NGOs are appendages of the MDC-T

07 Mar 2012 at 11:32hrs | Views

Humanitarian assistance by  Non-Governmental Organisations(NGOs) to host countries, the world over is a welcome move and commendable. When a country is facing natural disasters and sometimes tribal or racial conflicts culminating into wars, NGOs flood in, to assist victims with moral and material support.

Such maneuvers by NGOs to assist in natural and man-made disasters by helping victims  is laudable but many a time NGOs have turned from providing humanitarian assistance into political tools for the opposition political parties in a host country. They end up directing what a particular host country's political destiny should be.

Former colonial countries assisted by the United States of America are in the forefront of forming opposition political parties in third world countries in a move to deploy puppet leaders who would be working to further the western countries` interests.

In the United States of America, an NGO called Freedom House came into existence in 1941 with its main mission of fostering what it calls " a clear voice for democracy and freedom around the world"

This NGO is eighty-percent(80%)funded by the USA government and the remainder of its funding comes from the National Endowment for Democracy(NED), United States of America International Aid(USAID) and the USA State Department. Freedom House is there to further American interests in developing countries globally.

Freedom House uses its money to manipulate civil society organisations which claim to champion human rights agendas in host countries to do its bidding.

It always publishes an annual report that assesses the degree of democratic freedoms in each of the third world countries but fails to capture details of human rights abuses  by America and Britain in some countries like Afghanistan and Iraq.

Such organisations like the Freedom House and about forty NGOs in Zimbabwe were the ones which came up  with an idea in 1995 of forming the Movement for Democratic Change(MDC) so that the MDC would become a puppet government as to further the interests of the UK and USA.

The formation of the MDC was meant to remove ZANU PF from power which the former colonial power, United Kingdom(UK) and the USA viewed as an impediments in their quest to exploit the natural resources of Zimbabwe for the benefit of their countries.

In a startling revelation by the MDC-T leader when he was facing treason charges in the Zimbabwean High Court in 2003, Morgan Tsvangirai confirmed that the MDC was a creation of forty (40) NGOs operating in Zimbabwe with financial assistance from western countries.

"Your Lord, the MDC was formed in 1995 with the help of forty NGOs which were against ZANU PF rule and each NGO at that time managed to send ten(10) delegates to making up four hundred delegates to the launch of the MDC" said Morgan Tsvangirai while he was being cross examined by Advocate George Bizos, a South African based lawyer who was representing him(Tsvangirai) on his treason charges in the Zimbabwean High Court in 2003..

Morgan Tsvangirai revealed that the formation of the MDC was made possible by the helping hands from the United States of America and European Union(EU) countries who chipped in with monies to make the project a success.

The 2003 revelations by Morgan Tsvangirai that the USA and the EU in conjunctions with about forty NGOs in the country were the main gurus who helped in the formation of the MDC  clearly shows why all Western backed NGOs are ever in support of what the MDC-T would be doing despite corrupt activities done by MDC-T officials and councillors across the country.

It's no wonder that the NGOs in the country have adopted a hear no evil and see no evil attitude when it comes to the ever blundering MDC as it is they petty project.

Recently the Centre for Community Development in Zimbabwe(CCDZ) issued a statement expressing disappointment and concern over Minister of Local Government, Dr Ignatius Chombo over his alleged meddling in local  government issues. CCDZ accused Minister Chombo of harassing MDC-T councillors across the country.

Surprisingly even after this NGO had agreed that MDC-T councillors were corrupt it further said that ZANU PF councillors were not targeted for suspension and expulsion from work but it failed to mention  names of those ZANU PF councillors whom Dr Chombo is said to be ignoring to take action against them when in actual fact they are corrupt.

"Although there might be genuine cases of corruption involving these MDC-T officials, it is baffling why it is only officials from one political party, the MDC-T in the inclusive government that are targeted", said CCDZ in a statement.

It is surprising that instead of condemning the corrupt MDC-T councillors ,CCDZ is determined to bury its head in the sand and divert the whole issue to involve ZANU PF.

Such statements by CCDZ confirm all that has been said that NGOs in the country are just here to cause regime change. Their presence in the country is not for humanitarian assistance as they want ordinary people to believe  but they are using humanitarian excuse to penetrate the electorate so that if elections are held people would be misled into voting against the revolutionary party, ZANU PF.

President Robert Mugabe also confirmed that NGOs in the country are financing a sustained campaign to make sure that they get rid of him through unconstitutional means.

Addressing thousands of people at his 88th birthday celebrations at Sakubva Stadium in Mutare on Saturday 25 February 2012, President Robert Mugabe said that NGOs were burning the midnight oil to ensure that he is not elected as the country's next President in polls expected this year.

Its no wonder Masvingo Governor Titus Maluleke recently suspended the operations of some NGOs in his province for failing to regularize their operations with his office, as they would want to continue meddling in politics unabated.

It won't be long before many CEOs of these NGOs position themselves to claim positions in the MDC-T like Prof John Makumbe, former Chairman of Transparency International who has already declared his interest to stand as an MDC T candidate for Buhera West  parliamentary elections expected later this year.

Icho!!!!
