Donate to the needy this winter

The winter season is slowly creeping in, no surprises here for we all know when the chilly weather is upon us. The time is now to acquire appropriate clothes for keeping the cold at bay. Even pre-owned jackets and boots can keep the kids warm especially school children.
We also have the less unfortunate among us who need assistance particularly the orphans and the elderly in rural communities. I call upon the numerous churches to have a big heart for the needy who may have no shoulder to lean on this winter. We can deny ourselves a few luxuries just to contribute towards the basic necessities of the most vulnerable making them feel loved and comfortable.
That, lonely Mbuya Haruperi in Checheche, Gogo Ncube in Gwanda and the sickly orphan in far flung Mutoko need our help. The struggling children's homes and centres for the aged must not be forgotten. The world is too busy looking after their own, none but ourselves can look after our own.
Powerful countries are scaling down foreign aid to poor nations and its now our duty and responsibility to do so. Deep pocketed relatives should assist their kinsmen and the suffering progeny.
