Chamisa ZANU PF is part of the solution as ED agrees with Clinton: 'It's the economy, stupid'

Listening to Nelson Chamisa's simple rally message about destroyed infrastructure, horrendous economic toll, devastated health care, and increasing social misery excites malcontents.

As horrible as Chamisa's message is, one word explains the causes of all these vices-power; Mugabe monopolized power and was reluctant to relinquish or share power. I will never claim to know the whole truth about Mugabe's inner circle operations but what I can tell you is the leaders of the New Dispensation in Zimbabwe today were appalled by Mugabe's reluctance to relinquish power and the economic decay facing the country.

President Mnangagwa understands, as Bill Clinton did in 1992 that, "It's the economy, stupid" Zimbabwe's economic woes will not be solved by political posturing. Almost overnight, president Mnangagwa opened the political landscape and all of a sudden there is freedom of association, freedom of expression, and freedom of movement.

Chamisa feels compelled to restate the obvious; the bad state the country is in, so is all postcolonial African countries that failed to realize "It's the economy, stupid" reality. The political approach is the main reason the failures: the political approach. This approach is flawed because it does not prescribe policies that will address the economic quagmire the country is facing. It is all about stating the simple truth that can be also said by a grade one pupil.

President Mnangagwa has been there and done that as they say in America. The solution for Zimbabwe is an economic solution that involves everyone. It needs citizens to do their party and take opportunities to address the country's needs. Mnangagwa, unlike Chamisa's numerous pronunciations is part of the solution. There is no solution in Zimbabwe that will exclude Mnangagwa's economic vision; it will not work.

My advice to my fellow Zimbabweans is to get involved in the economic process. Remember our culture encourages healing, social harmony and peace more than retributions and punishments. Our interests as Zimbabweans are more important than Chamisa and Mnangagwa. What I see is that president Mnangagwa has learned his lessons; my personal observation is he is the best suited person today to take us to the next level; economic recovery.
