The Alliance is irrelevant; MDC-T

01 Jun 2018 at 08:07hrs | Views
There were fireworks during the recent MDC-T National Executive meeting over the Alliance issue. This was revealed by some members who chose to remain anonymous.

One senior member based in Bulawayo said, "During our National Executive Meeting this week, it came out clear that we don't need the Alliance anymore. Our rallies have shown that we have the numbers and why would we disadvantage our cadres by giving seats on a platter to the so called partners?" She asked rhetorically.

She added that brick bats were thrown at Welshman Ncube the leader of MDC-N and Tendai Biti of PDP.

"These two's long history of selling out was laid bare and so can not be trusted".

"They have become political street kids who can't accept that they are used oil. Like Biti, Ncube left the party and he returned because he has figured out that he can't survive politically outside the big tent. We as MDC-T, we don't need them but they need us in order to get government opportunities. To them, its so clear that with President Chamisa, we are the next government. Outside MDC-T led by President Chamisa, its cold out there. Khupe failed to learn that from Biti and Ncube, who should have figured out that bootlicking is their only way to victory".

Ncube has been accused of being a state agent, meant to disarm the opposition. He has since realised that he has nothing to offer on the table, and being under President Chamisa is more than enough for him.

Another member from Harare added that, "It should be clear to them that President Chamisa doesn't need the Alliance and since it's dragging our progress, we just have to drop it anytime".

"In any case, we know Biti has applied to rejoin the party. We will only consider his application after the elections. As of now we need all their seats to give to our loyal cadres".

"Also, Ncube as a  regional polittical character should just be satisfied with whatever we offer. He left us, now what does he want? Is it because he is now a clueless politician? Can't he see that the Alliance is irrelevant?".

Another leader from Manicaland added that the people of Zimbabwe want us to field candidates in all 210 seats and we have the capacity. This Ncube has no support even in his backyard  of Matabeleland. He should just sit back and relax whilst we run in all constituencies.
