The turmoil in Zimbabwe

05 Jun 2018 at 08:15hrs | Views
It's sad that as the clock hand moves closer to the elections, political gimmickry, violence and intimidation is increasing tallying with the time. The greatest question that a normal citizen should ask him/her self is: who are the victims of all these? Well the simple answer is ordinary citizens.

Lately the news hubs have highlighted  to us that Advocate Nelson Chamisa has stretched his political hand in a bid to make national camaraderie with the Zanu PF camp...really?

Even The Late Dr Tsvangirai is nearly bursting or have bursted already with fury, I suppose. Isn't it like the government of the day calls for a GNU to stabilise the nation and so far there is no instability and I hope and pray that the situation will actually improve as we go to the elections.

How can the opposition call for a GNU a month before the elections? How about the democratic right that Zimbabweans are anticipating to practice with high hope? Does that mean that it will be taken away? If a Government of National Unity is formed right now, July 30 will be declared an ordinary day then. That will mean that we'll go to elections after the duo are satisfied with power, of which that's an impossibility for their actions portray the level of power hungriness that resides in their hearts.

Constitutionally Mr Mnangagwa is an illegitimate President who got into that office through technocratic Crookery and Mr Chamisa  jettisoned the Constitutional adherence that he claims to have and followed Mnangagwa's path.

Speaking of the so called 5th June March, well we have heard it's for electoral reforms. It's actually a good thing but done in a foolish way.

It might be a tool used by Mr Chamisa to drive his GNU agenda home since social media hearsay has it that Zanu PF is having theirs too...but for Zanu PF like always techno-primitiveness is making the arrangements to be tough and there is confusion too. Two opposing messages supposedly from Zanu PF are circulating on social media, one inviting people for the march and the other one bearing an opposing message.
The Zanu PF or Alliance march is not a big deal if poor and unemployed young people are being used, but the moment they ignorantly maraud in Harare streets unknowingly enriching some people, then we'll have a problem. My fellow young people let's not be used as political stepping stones, because one the oppressors are on the other side is seeking relevance for his own political grandstanding. Let's be wise.

There is only one presidential candidate of substance who is humble and determined to bring forth positive transformation. Our vote as the MDC-T Harare Youth Assembly belongs to Dr. Thokozani Khupe.
