Stop taking children to political rallies
17 Jun 2018 at 11:28hrs | Views
It's very sad to see that, for some reasons to have a great gathering to window dress media coverage, some political parties are hiring school buses and gonyets to carry supporters to their rallies.
Amongst them are children of school going age. These students apart from the loss of 14 learning days due to upcoming general elections, they continue to be bused to political rallies where they get injured either due to stampede for party regalia or caught up in political violence.
An innocent 3-month-old baby died at Mucheke yesterday in a stampede for party regalia. Is this a show for the love of the party or sign of poverty which makes one lose a child in the fight for a T-shirt.
Comrade Rugeje, it's so early for you to forget that you said with your own mouth, "The era of bussing people to political rallies are over." But yesterday, schools cancelled the intended sporting competitions because of a political party.
Stop bussing people, you are fooling yourselves
