Simba Mhuriro, The most decorated young entrepreneur in Zimbabwe

Great moments are born from great opportunity.If you can imagine it ,you can achieve it. If you can dream it , you can become it. No matter where you are today .It should be not the yardstick to determine your tomorrow . Today, I am touching a story of a young man soon after high school tempted from being a DJ, to working as a primary school teacher. But his first full-time job was in the central reservations department at Meikles Hotel, Harare, back in 2003 and previously worked in the hospitality sector in Dubai. His name is Simba Mhuriro , the founder and Managing Director of Oxygen Energy Private Limited, an independent power producer and renewable energy development company that specialises in utility scale power plants and commercial rooftop projects. Success is measured when you discover a need in your community and provide a solution on it. Almost 90 percent men are busy men only 10 percent are business men being busy does not mean you are a business man. An elephant works for 20 hours and sleeps for only 4 hours yet it feeds on grass , we have to change our mindset and work smart. Simba , have demonstrated on steps on how to become a vibrant entrepreneur.
Oxygen is currently developing 50MW rooftop solar project with Old Mutual Property Zimbabwe, the largest property investment managers in Zimbabwe; as well as a second with Minerva Risk Advisors, a leading provider of risk management services, insurance and reinsurance brokerage and employee benefits consulting in Zimbabwe.
In 2018, Simba was named by Forbes Magazine as one of the Africa's 30 most promising young entrepreneurs.
Forbes Magazine had already named him one of the Africa's 30 most promising and inspirational young entrepreneurs in Africa in 2016. Simba has also been recognised by the Africa Youth Awards as one of the 100 most Influential Young Africans of the year.
Afk Insider magazine named him among 12 Most Promising African Entrepreneurs of 2016 whilst in 2017 Africa.com named him among 40 Africans Under 40 – Making It In Africa.
Most Influential People of African Descent under 40 (MIPAD 100), a global civil society initiative whose efforts are in recognition of the UN-backed International Decade for People of African Descent, named Simba among its 2017 honourees for business and entrepreneurship inside Africa.
