Let Zimbabwe move forward

Ever heard of the adage 'Old habits die hard'? Most people thought threats from some political parties or is it one political party to boycott elections had ended with the demise of Save.

Today we hear in hushed tones similar threat to do the 'boycott game' by this party led by a young presidential aspirant. The young man wants  the electoral body ZEC to dance to his type of music despite the almost tangible silence from scores of other participating political parties.

Where other leaders of political parties see no evil, the youthful leader is seeing 'tollgates' and hindrances. It would seem he wanted the ballot papers printed by his party and the elections run by his party.

It is not unusual for youths to threaten boycotting a game even at the pastures when heading cattle if 'his demands' are not met.

People did not take Save seriously since he had not taken school seriously but for this young man its a different scenario. The man is well educated but it seems the boycott syndrome has caught up with him. With over a hundred registered political parties, a one party boycott might not be taken seriously.

Elders in the party must counsel the over-excited leader and calm him down, maybe its the fear of losing the elections. Zimbabwe needs to move forward, boycotting elections is not in anyone's interest. We are one people despite our diverse cultures.
