Zimbabwe: Politics of false hope.

20 Jul 2018 at 06:48hrs | Views

The truth is not always good news however it is always right. The Zimbabwean opposition is going into 2018 election with a false positive. There is no way in hell ZANU-PF would have announced an Election Day if elections were to be held freely and fairly. The sad truth is there are no reforms in place and ZANU-PF is running the show. Zimbabwe, I am not a prophet but someone who follows some logic.

Zanu-Pf in its infinity wisdom created some of these so called opposition candidates some of which do not even have a stool to put their rear ends on. That must be dealt with in future elections. These stooges were created to take away the real opposition's threat of boycotting the election. They are sure to lose but their job is to endorse Zanu-Pf, it is like having Zanu-Pf contesting against itself. This must be addressed and be put in the books, ask me how I will let you know.

ZEC is supposedly an independent body that must be non-partisan therefore any appointment to ZEC should not be by one appointing authority. There is no fool in this world who would appoint to the most influential position to someone who is not the most loyal candidate to the appointing authority. Never. I personally don't blame Zanu-Pf for this, there is no genuine opposition to their calls so they will repeat the same thing over and over since there is no resistance. This must be reviewed , and reformed

The most important thing we need to change in Zimbabwe if we are to see change is to change the way we have public servants appointed. The President can appoint his cabinet.  As far as government appointees are concerned, now is the time for us to use our elected officials to do the job they are elected for. Any ministerial appointment must go before the congress for an approval. We have people who are supposedly leading a ministry when there is nothing they are doing, case in point what was the Psychomotor meant to achieve?

Sad but true, we don't have a functioning government in the country, hence nobody to hold accountable. Since November 2017, Zimbabwe is being led by a group of people who happen to be the strongest because they legally carry guns in the country but they do not have the authority to lead the country. It is a shameful to call these people honorable men when they are actually the opposite. There is no honor in destabilizing the country and imposing your own rule and call it restore legacy. They have just subverted the law at will, they are the law if you really look at it. Sane people must demand their departure with immediate effect. This is only happening because there is no opposing voice. The truth is none of this would have happened if Zanu-PF was on the receiving end so why then should we accept it? I challenge all those who claim to understand Zimbabwean Constitutional law to come forward and set the record straight as to who is supposed to be in charge.

Zimbabwe we can do better than this. If we stand aside and look the same guys will come back and forcibly remove their leader from power and tell us the same story that he was becoming a dictator and make us participate in a sham election where they already know the outcome. We are not all that stupid. They actually make you think you won something when they actually set it that way. Letting them getting away with this is actually treasonous.

If the ZEC Chair openly agrees that her database was breached is there any reasonable argument to proceed with an election if it is supposed to be credible? Where is the credibility when the ZEC chairmanship just admitted that there is nothing credible here? Why is the electorate going to the polls? What miracle are we expecting out of this?
