The man who made it possible

ZANU PF swept into victory in very unprecedented way. The opposition was left wide mouthed and as usual promising to challenge the election result. The ZANU PF campaign machine was organised with such a precision. The commissariat team led by cde Abel Ebhero Rugeje and Cde Hungwe worked beyond measure.
One should understand that Rugeje was regarded as a Novice. He faced unprecedented opposition from within. This was the first time ZANU PF was operating under a clear democratic regime. This means any person will throw a slovo aimed at Rugeje without fear.
This was the time ZANU PF was so divided and indeed unstable. It remained to Rugeje to unite the party for the battle. It was not an easy task.
Rugeje put his life on the line for the party. He bears wounds and scars from White City bombing. He bled and trudged on in the battle. He cried " I will hold on the revolutionary banner till I die"
Great appreciation is given to the president ED for having faith in Rugeje. He did not disappoint. Today more than 37 years after a former colony won the right to determine its own destiny, the task of perfecting our nation moves forward.
It moves forward because of the commissariat It moves forward because they rallied the nation behind ZANU PF and reaffirmed the spirit that has triumphed over war and depression, the spirit that will raise Zimbabwe from the depths of Economic despair to the great heights of hope, the belief that while each of us will pursue our own individual dreams, we are a Zimbabwean family, and we rise and rise together as a unity and as one people.
Rtd Major General A Rugeje need not remind us that while our road has been hard, while our journey has been long, we have picked ourselves up, we have fought our way back, and we know in our hearts that for Zimbabwe the best is yet to come.
As we thank every Zimbabwean who participated in this election we must not forget the art and skill of Rugeje. It is our culture to praise our heroes when they are dead but now we say spare a thought for the commissariat. Whether you voted for the very first time or waited in line for a very long time the peaceful mood was made possible by the crafting of the commissariat. Do not forget those who played Bhora Musango deliberately wanting to injure the office of the commissariat. Remember those who said the party is not a barack. In all these Rugeje rose above the mucky mud straight to victory.
People never gave him a chance judged him on the basis of the primary elections. Some moved for his removal from the office some even insulted him in the press. Now they should turn back and say well done.
The party needs to congratulate him on a hard-fought campaign. Lets not lie to ourselves Chamisa was not a push over. But Rugeje akamu gejemura. He may have battled fiercely, but it's only because loves this country deeply and he cares so strongly about its future. He fought in the Chimurenga got shot and survived he was bombed in Bulawayo and in his injuries bleeding from the heart he limped on to victory. For the first time in our campaigns peace was enveloping the atmosphere. Rugeje and his family, cde Hungwe and her family have chosen to give back to Zimbabwe through public service. And that is a legacy that we honour and applaud today.
To the best campaign team Rugeje set up and volunteers in the history of ZANU PF the best the best ever some of them were new this time around, and some of them have been around but had to adjust to the new strategies they all are family. No matter what they will do or where they go from here, they will carry the memory of the history they made together for Zimbabwe.
We say to all the team thank you very much, we say to the president thank you for trusting this team. We say to ZANU PF thank you for supporting this team. We say to all who insulted and undermined Rugeje thank you for making him strong.
To President ED thank you for being level headed.
God bless you all
