Open Letter to my Mother - My heroine
16 Sep 2018 at 07:04hrs | Views
Dear Mom,
I'm not sure where to actually start this letter, because I have so much to say.
I think it's difficult as a child to express a lot of things to their mother especially if its thanking you for being you.
From the onset its always been you multitasking as a mother and a father simultaneously, from day one its always been you directing me to be the young man I am today and its through your self sacrifice and unconditional love that I have managed to blossom against all odds.
Words alone cannot even begin to fathom my eternal gratitude for the warmth, love and comfort you provided. Many times I went astray and each time you've showed me the proper way.
It's never easy to raise a man by yourself but the world bears the testimony that you did a marvellous job. Like many mothers out there you shielded your child from this cruel world's forms of evil.
I still recall the joyful moments of my yesteryears when laughter and love filled the air, I still recall the days you slaved so as secure a brighter future for me, I still recall when your 4am alarm would go off and like a super woman that you are, you would stand up and face the world each morning, I still recall how you would walk in tired after work but with enough energy to work your magic in the kitchen and make the best meals known to men.
As I age dear mother I take on new commitments and new responsibilities, as I age I claim my place in this world to release my full potential so as to become the man you raised me to be and I hope you support me now as you supported me during the yesteryears of my life.
The purpose of this letter is to tell you I appreciate the sacrifices you made.
God Bless You and God Bless every mother out there.
Forever Grateful
