Do not deny our children bread
17 Sep 2018 at 18:48hrs | Views
Well, to begin with, I need my bread and I am sure we all do. As for the kids I shall not speak, a day without bread is like a day 'never lived'.
Now, who is taking away bread from us by raising the price from one dollar to $2.10? Will the children understand why the bread has disappeared from our breakfast and school tuck pack? Why drag the children into it? Its politics stupid!
The me-only-must-rule syndrome getting into the children's way, what happened to the clarion call 'let's respect the poll outcome'? Has the runaway prices have anything to do with the fundamentals of business or its simply throwing spanners in the works to make the country 'ungovernable' as pronounced from some quarters before and after the watershed elections?
Remember the price hikes affect everybody, is that not throwing away the baby with the bath water? Cholera has hit towns most and bread consumption is noticeably high in towns and cities, will that not hold sway after five years as the nation inches towards another election?
Will the boomerang effect not produce a similar outcome with even a higher margin. Let's put our differences aside and build our economy. HE ED is calling for unity and development for all, let bygones be bygones.
Economic terrorism will not help anyone but our detractors. African fathers have endorsed the polls outcome let's respect that and move on. Cholera kills, practice total hygiene.
