Events in Zimbabwe can not just be ignored ,but this is what is happening. The whole world watched and celebrated the removal of Zimbabwe,s only post lndependance leader, Mugabe.

Munangagwa buoyed by support from the UK and other European states promised a shift from way his predecessor had conducted his leadership.Everyone was happy ,Zimbabweans scattered all over the world cheered as they could retrace their way back to motherland and offer experience acquired in foreign lands.

This was not to be,a disputed election revealed the true characters of the new leadership. The ghost of Mugabe's rule was still with us as the junta leader turned on those same people who had cheered him as he landed at the airport after escaping from Zimbabwe earlier on .Security forces were unleashed on unarmed protesters and innocent lives were lost after demanding release of election results.

A Commission was hand picked by Munangagwa to look into the shootings.Again findings were released later ,another delaying tactic. The army culprits were never charged,as if it was not enough promotions were effected as a thank you to army senior officers .

Munangagwa had promised things would be better,he forgot one thing :talking is not action .Things actually became worse with his leadership .The fuel increase announced before he left to learn more tricks from other dictators led to more protests.Again, the security forces were unleashed on the people as if to spite the recommendations of the non event Commission which had among its group Zanu-PF bootlickers .

More people were shot dead ,more than the August 2018 shootings .The security agencies as l write are haunting innocent people hauling them out of their homes to unknown torture bases. This is a coordinated attack ,remember this junta leader is head of JOC .Joint Operations Command inherited from the brutal Rhodesia security was for war purposes ,why it is still functional is a mystery.Zimbabwe is not at war,but Zanu-PF led government is at war with its own people .

Where is the African Union ,where is Sadc in all this? Each time there is a shame of an election observers sent by these organs are the first to arrive and the first to announce "the elections have been free and fair".They stay in the comfort of hotels doing absolutely nothing but endorse stolen elections .

Africa would be better if our leaders were like lan Khama of Botswana,he ruffled despots like Mugabe .Thabo Mbeki employed his quiet diplomacy instead of doing much .Cyril Rhamaphosa in the midst of this crisis asks for sanctions removal!

Among the objectives of the African Union are:
-To promote democratic principles and institutional popular participation and good governance
-Taking due account of the Charter of the United Nations ,and the Universal Declaration of Rights.

They have failed to operate as guided by their objectives.lt only works on paper, not in reality.

Silence from these organizations only mean one thing ,they are just useless bodies set up to do nothing on Africa matters .Member States mostly are dictators in their own backyards so why should we expect anything hence the silence .It is a case of protecting each other .
In 1999 there was massacre of ethnic Albanians by Serbian forces under Slobodan Milosevic(later hauled to the ICC).The UN after getting hand of the massacre from.reliable sources recommended NATO intervention.Africa can not expect far off nations to go ahead when there are organs meant to do that .

The mantra of our sovereignty has led powerful nations to let us do things our way, which sadly we can't.African leaders are good at cheering dictators when they are on the podium especially at UN General Assembly meetings .

African Union as well as Sadc has been a big let down on Zimbabwe. When they meet in the fancy hotels do they ever think how they have failed in their mandate.Sadc being for Southern African states is just but a shame.
