Why Felix Magalela Mafa Sibanda must the President of MDC Alliance

Politics need maturity and experience. A party with a mature leader is focused and can be counted as stable. MDC Alliance need a mature leader who appeals to both the young and aged. This is non other than Dr Felix Magalela Mafa Sibanda, the lion of Judah. This article clearly demonstrates why Mr Mafa should be the president of the people's movement come congress this year.
Mr Mafa has been in politics for a long time. His internship under the able leadership of both Dr Joshua Nkomo and Morgan Tsvangirai are a clear testimony of the path this icon has followed. Mr Mafa is a Democrat par excellence. His level headedness is there for everyone to see. It is because of this that I nominate honorable Mafa for the post of President in the MDC Alliance.
The MDC Alliance is a strong party but it has been let down by the current leadership. Chamisa has made a lot of blunders throughout his tenure as president of the movement. He is very quick in speach and does not take time to analyze what he speaks. This has given Zanu PF the chance to always portray his shortcomings. For someone who claims to be God fearing Chamisa had made a lot of reckless statements that show clearly that he is not yet mature. We need the maturity in honerable Mafa if MDC Alliance is to move forward and be relevant.
Douglas Mwonzora as the secretary General failed to act as the policeman of the party and allowed Chamisa to make blunders. Primary elections where not done in many places including Magunje Constituency and Magwegwe in Bulawayo. Mwonzora just kept quiet and allowed Chamisa to flout the constitution. Mwonzora also kept quiet when Khupe and Gutu where mishandled at the burial of Tsvangirai. When Neville Zunde was attacked by Chamisa's security at Chipinge, Mwonzora was silent. Can that individual be trusted with the presidency? *No*. We would rather have a democrat in the form of Honerable Mafa for president. It's now time that the movement has a mature and forthwith leader who can lead the party into the future. Mwonzora has a always been silent as a way of destroying Chamisa instead of uplifting Chamisa as a brother. Such a person is dangerous for the development of the country and the party because he is focused on individual progress rather than the success of the whole movement and the country.
Engineer Elias Mudzuri is weak. He allowed Chamisa to muscle him out of the leadership of the party. Instead of standing his ground he just felt quiet. Mudzuri failed as the mayor of Harare to turn the fortunes of the sunshine city. Yet today he wants to be the president of the whole movement. Surely we don't want such a leader as a party. We need someone who has experienced and maturity to guide us into the future. In this case Felix Mafa is our man. His journey in politics started long back as a trade unionist. He challenged Mugabe's government in the first civil service strike by teachers. He was there when the movement was formed. Has been very loyal, humble and not power hungry like what we see now in the movement.
It is my argument that if MDC Alliance is going to move forward we need honerable Felix Mafa for president at this year's elective congress. I know a lot of Chamisa's hooligans would try to fight this and silence anyone who wants to challenge him. Myself and other level headed people in the movement still fell it is high time honerable Mafa stood up and lead the party to greater heights.
