15 May 2019 at 08:11hrs | Views
Community Water Alliance has served letters to the Chief Executive Officer of Procurement Regulatory Authority of Zimbabwe, Mayor of Harare His Worship Councilor Hebert Gomba and the Ministry of Local Government.
A petition has been also prepared laying out the logic of our conclusion and prayer to City of Harare.
CWA is demanding cost-effective, efficiency and effective water treatment regime in Harare. We are demanding water chemical regime that does not burden citizens and one that gives residents quality potable water. In brief we are demanding Value for Money and respect of the sanctity of life in Harare. We require justice in the administrative conduct of both Procurement Regulatory Authority of Zimbabwe and City of Harare.
We are proposing a formal meeting at Town House on 15 May 2019 at Town House from 11am to 12pm where Mayor of Harare, City of Harare Town Clerk, Harare Water Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Procurement Regulatory Authority of Zimbabwe will attend and give answers to questions we have on tenders for water chemicals.
We have also lined up spirited citizen action to resist a tender regime that force residents to drink glorified sewage and tender regime that transfers cost of purifying water to ordinary suffering masses of Zimbabwe.
