It was agric-fete or farming 'tombola' at Chinehasha Community shed as villagers exhibiting excitement and zealousness mingled and mixed to receive the 'Pfumvudza' farming inputs.
The unrelenting September heat did not deter the mass of humanity that gathered here to wait with the patience of the biblical Job for the fertilizers, seed maize and the lime, a government farming inputs scheme tailored to make sure we have enough for our families and the national silos.
This time draught power and farming impliments are never a barrier, only holes in the ground matter. For a change we will spare the cattle for beef and milk, all those who dug the holes are sure to receive the inputs.
Farmers from Chideu, Musonza, Chirimugaha and Chinehasha all came to receive their fertilizers and seed maize. Good willing (the rains), the word starvation will leave our vocabulary never to come back. With the area Agritex Officer Mr Chikorowondo leading from the front, the clarion call is 'enough grain for the nation'.
Our pro-people government and the hard working Village Heads are all calling for more 'holes' to feed the nation.
His Excellency President ED is on record saying no one will starve, true to his words, in Mash. Central the inputs are 'home'.
To our wonderful farmers, let the harvest do the talking. Knuckles to the ground, no pain no gain.
