Kamuzu Banda who was believed to be Mugabe's closest friend was defeated after 33 years from 1961-1994.
Mugabe has also ruled for 33 years from 1980-2013.
Banda was 89 years when he lost, Mugabe is 89 years. Banda had a dairy farm, Mugabe also owns a dairy farm.

Mugabe became prime minister when he was 57; Tsvangirai became prime minister when he was 57.
