Dr. Tsvangirai: A Democrat par excellence
27 Feb 2014 at 03:24hrs | Views
The events that unfolded in the past week is at variance with the ideals and beliefs of MDC, as well as that of our dear loved President, Dr. Morgan.
It is totally absurd for the Renewal clique to try to link Dr. Tsvangirai to the skirmishes that occurred at MDC T Headquarters the previous week, which led to the alleged choreographed assault of Elton Mangoma's shirt. And also the petrol bombed of the house belonging to Tendai Biti.
As a true democrat as he is Dr. Morgan Tsvangirai can not be associated with violence. In fact, the prevailing peaceful environment in Zimbabwe today is as a result of the sacred democratic values of the man Morgan Tsvangirai.
Zimbabwe could have been another DRC, Angola, Central African Republic or Mali, but President Tsvangirai has overwhelmingly succumbed to the ideals of peace and democracy. He have the ability and human ammunition to import another Central African Republic or DRC into Zimbabwe, but he doesn't subscribe to such ideals. Now for some little known political foes like Mangoma to try to link our democratic president to the event that resulted in him suffering injuries to his shirt, its a daylight madness.
Let it be known to the people of Zimbabwe that those who are championing the ouster of our president from the helm of MDC T, are from the extremist quarters within our movement, in fact, they are war mongers. Those who are pseudo-democrats, who were infuriated by the peaceful nature of President Tsvangirai. An extremist section being financed and influenced by ex-Rhodesians, who are bitter of their land which they lost during the chaotic land grab in Zimbabwe and wishes to recover it by any means necessary. Of which the policy of the MDC led by Dr. Morgan is that the land reform is irreversible. Its a done deal. A case that vindicates our President from crazy Zanu pf claims that he is a puppet.
If it wasn't of the democratic nature of President Tsvangirai, people like myself Lft Gen Simbarashe Mujeye, could have been in the bush doing what we know best. We can't be seen bombing our poor villagers with explosives for the sake of grabbing political power. MDC wasn't formed to grab political power but was formed to assume political leadership.
MDC T is the people's party and we can't afford to alienate our movement from the impoverished masses by risking their lives from military explosives. People loves MDC T and President Morgan Tsvangirai, but their vote were stolen by Zanu pf through intimidation and a flawed voting process.
We believe in Democratic change of Government and we will not move an inch from the core values set at the preamble in 1999. The founders of this movement knew it was not going to be easy to dislodge a well established Dictatorship system, and that it was going to be a long walk to freedom.
Albeit, we will get there the right way. We owe it to the future generations, to set an example that things can be achieved the right way. We don't intend to set a wrong precedent, of hostile takeover of government. Believe me people of my motherland, we will get there, the right way and we will live in a New Zimbabwe.
long live Dr. Morgan Tsvangirai!! a peace loving leader, a Democrat par excellence.
