A new Enos Nkala emergies: Lovemore Moyo

20 Mar 2014 at 19:22hrs | Views
In the early 1980's there was a politician called Enos Nkala who wished to wash his Ndebele origins with soap. It was those early days when world politics was winning the war or had won the war against the mafia political influence and looking at finalising colonial strangle hold. Enos had seemingly liked the politics of that era and helped create the monster Gukurahundi.

Just when Zimbabwe thought the era was behind and eager to see the politics of the old peddled by ZANU-PF gone, Lovemore Moyo appears in the scene. He does not yet control any kind of security services except of course his boss Tswangirai's blood thirsty gangs passing as MDC-T youth. He addresses a tiny crowd at Stanley Squire in Bulawayo departing in the most amazing manner from the values of democracy attacking those people eager to bring about the much needed freedom to the people. He tells them to leave, really is that the kind of politics of the current era or is this guy still stuck in the olden day political field.

If such a leader would be given a chance to unseat ZANU-PF what would he do as he does not tolerate opposing views like his boss Morgan Tswangirai. He was obviously upset with the turn out at Stanley Squire and without spelling out his party future focus showed so much anger at the opposition of his boss.

Looking at what happened at Stanley Squire one wonders what direction MDC-T is headed for, VIOLENT and none tolerance of opposing views.

Some people were introduced, politically bankrupt and only eager to be seen in the political mix. Remembering their names is not ease, Sikhala and others.

As Lovemore and his politically insolvent MDC-T leadership, which included Morgan, addressed the people one was left wondering whether Tendai Biti was really understood when he spoke about the July 31 elections. Biti displayed a rare leadership quality that showed how much he understands and embraces competition in a democratic manner irrespective of how the other competitor approached the field. It is how the likes of Prof Welshman Ncube, Dr Dumiso Dabengwa, to name a few have approached their loss. They are aware the future is more important than the past while lessons have been learnt. Elton Mangoma has been given all sorts of names by a lot of political misfits who fail to realise that a leader without being told the truth is misguided and dangerous not only to himself but the entire nation. If Zimbabwe had a few more Mangomas then surely the much longed for freedom would come.
