Killing the Messenger is not Killing the Message

The recent expulsion of Deputy Treasurer Elton Mangoma from MDC-T is a regrettable development which is weakening our party. Mangoma is crucified for telling it like it is to the chagrin of the enemies of democracy in the party.

I am cocksure that the call for leadership renewal was strengthened by the expulsion of Mangoma. Mangoma is gone, but the message remains that Morgan Tsvangirai is gnawing the moral fabric of the party, and he should go to pave way for re-focused party leadership to take us to the next paradigm.

Surely Tsvangirai is putting the party into a Merry Go Round sought of situation. Just a few days ago he screamed from the top of the mountain that he had resolved all matters with party members whom he had gone to loggerheads with, and that he was re-cementing the party by inviting all founding members of the democratic movement of 1999. Surprisingly, barely a fort night later he goes into high drive to expel founding members of the same party. What level of foolery is that guys? Where are we going as a party?

We are moving in circles while others are moving forward. Let's remove our one and only stumbling block, Morgan Tsvangirai, and then we are assured of positive development as a party.

The level of policy bankruptcy in our leader is so amazing that all hopes will be lost if we keep on trailing behind him blindly. MDC-T will not manage to out-maneuver its competitors whose policies are well streamlined and clear to the generality of the public. We need to be logical enough so that we reconstruct a strong foundation for our party well enough in advance before the next polls.

Let me warn all in the party that we risk losing relevance if we continue running the party in a haphazard manner like this. The confused leader should not obscure our vision for the party and the people of Zimbabwe. Surely we cannot prove to be an alternative government under the prevailing circumstances of gross lack of trust and plots to kill or maim each other as spear-headed by this man at the helm.

I regret being a founding member of a political party which thrives on violence against its own prop-shafts. I pray that God rescues our people against further beatings now and ever! I repeat that people in our party are no longer free to air their views openly due to fear of victimization. The policy now is.

"Criticize Morgan Tsvangirai at your own risk". But I wonder why this man mastered dictatorship which he had been criticizing ever since the formation of MDC in 1999.
