West tightens Sanctions screws

25 Apr 2014 at 18:15hrs | Views

The west will not, anytime soon, rest its agenda of toppling the people elected ZANU PF government.

The freezing of the Zimbabwean embassy bank account, banning of sport hunted elephants and the ordering of Ethiopian banks to cease transactions of Zimbabwean citizens resident in Ethiopia are recent examples of the west's determination to tighten sanction screws.

This stance is saddening and anti people to say the least.

The attempts towards frustration come in the wake of a decisive choice made by Zimbabweans at the July 2013 harmonized elections. It then ponders the mind, whose interests the west is pursuing? People exercised their democratic right and elected a leader of their choice, yet still, the sanctions are amassing. Indeed the so called policemen of the world were antagonized by the land reform much to the extent of losing their heads in a selfish rage of vengeance.

Britain's ambassador to Zimbabwe, Deborah Bronnet foolishly remarked in an interview on Spot FM on 25/4/2014, that the issue of governance by Zimbabweans is inviting the wrath of the sanctions. How the West intends to address the so called Zimbabwe governance situation, through transparency and accountability scheme by plunging millions of people in hunger, death and untold suffering, is self defeating. The assertion is not only nonsensical, rather, satanic and counter- productive as the moves are defeating the good governance of a leader (President Robert Mugabe) who has restored identity to his people by the land reform program  and empowered them by the indigenization drives.

The freezing of the Zimbabwean Embassy bank account in the United States evidences the length at which the West can provoke diplomatic relations for selfish and unwarranted causes. The move was never justified and the bottom line is they are just looking for ways to make life more difficult for the people of Zimbabwe.
United States Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS) abruptly banned the importation of sport-hunted African elephants from Zimbabwe. The project benefited the locals directly as the income was applied back to the society through initiatives by the Campfire. The ban however, guarantees more harm than good on the part of the US government to the ordinary Zimbabweans.

The inhuman antics have been extended to Ethiopia where local banks have been instructed to stop transactions of Zimbabweans citizen in that country. Zimbabweans in Ethiopia are thus failing to send back money to their families home. Fears are however, rife as to where and when these draconian initiatives will be effected elsewhere in the world. The west simply cannot stomach the idea of equal humans and have absolutely no regard for human life.

The intended redefining of Zimbabwean diamonds clearly depicts a picture of the unreasonable white race that wants to keep the black community under servitude in their homeland for their resources. The idea of slave -master relationship is deeply engraved in their skin and cannot seem to let go of it, as it is evidently cascading form one generation to the other. What Africans should refuse is to be played with like pawns on a chase board. The continued fueling of suffering on Africans, under the guise of addressing African concerns, is not helping matters rather a vivid demonstration that we are no equal humans as far as the west is concerned.
