Booting out Tsvangirai was long over-due

28 Apr 2014 at 14:31hrs | Views

The long overdue need to kick-out Morgan Tsvangirai, the assassin of democracy in MDC-T, finally sounded loudly when the National Executive Council voted for his suspension last weekend. Prior to his bad omen we tried to say every word possible to advise Tsvangirai against the rein of terror on party members as well as his unilateral declarations which illustrated his highest level of arrogance and lack of leadership acumen.

After he maliciously crucified the deputy Treasurer Elton Mangoma over trumped-up charges, I remember very well reminding this political vagabond that, "Killing the messenger is not killing the message". In MDC-T our major aim is quite clear, and simple that we need leadership renewal after the incumbent leader led us astray by failing to extricate the party out of the political messy it is floating on after successive defeats by ZANU-PF. Tsvangirai has become a liability which is devoid of political expediency which can save the party against extinction. His continued stay would accelerate the collapse of our party.

In view of the foregoing, his suspension and a possible firing bring renewed hope of success to the party. The rest of the party members were living in incessant fear and scared of Tsvangirai's predatory thugs who were on the lose, and kept on highest alert sniffing for vulnerable preys whom they would torment with impunity.
The party Headquarters, Harvest House was turned into a slaughter house where all dissent democratic voices were suppressed through physical assault. It had become precariously risky to oppose the Tsvangirai on any matter, in spite how rational one's contribution can be. The policy was, "See no evil, hear no evil and talk no evil against Tsvangirai". Or else you would be subjected to the inferno of torture. The living testimonies of these callous and tyrannical actions are Kauzani, Elton Mangoma, Madzore and Promise Mkwananzi among others. They can tell how ruthless Tsvangirai is.

I feel sorry for my counter-parts in the party who were beaten and in turn threatened never to report their cases to the police or else they would face further punitive unspecified action. That level of the break-down of the rule of law in the party was so amazing and flabbergasting. Where in any modern democracy would we see such laws of the jungle taking the centre stage?

Hats-off to the MDC-T National Executive Council for voting against insanity which was bedeviling and polluting our party. It is now time to restore the fundamental founding values which include freedom, liberty, solidarity and democracy in the post Morgan Tsvangirai era. Never again should we allow this dictator to come back, lest we should brace-up for another era of terror.

Well done to the Leadership Renewal Team, we are hotly behind you for the transformation from dictatorship to democracy. Tsvangirai and his rotten elements were busy gnawing democracy to the detriment of us all. Never again should we allow a repeat of such.

We have always warned Tsvangirai that, "He who lives by the sword dies by the sword". He fired every innocent party member who was at variance with his ideals. Now the guillotine which he sharpened is used to behead him.

There was no other better way to treat Tsvangirai than what he received from the voices of democracy. `I think that was enough compensation to all those who suffered under his hands when he subjected them to hurly burly which inflicted pain on their person and soul.

However, let me warn all party members that, "The dagger is still in the air. And as such, let us be on the watch out to find any bad elements which may want to destabilize the new democratic dispensation which is on the making in the party."

Democracy should speak in the party!
