Tsvangirai are you allergic to a sense of logic and reasoning?

29 Apr 2014 at 10:42hrs | Views

Tsvangirai the message is quite clear that you must go and pave way for democracy to flourish in the party. How come you are failing to recognize the most elementary issue which you are expected to comply with?

The suspension of Morgan Tsvangirai, Thokozani Khupe, Lovemore Moyo, Douglas Mwonzora, Nelson Chamisa and Morgan Komichi was the voice of democracy as defined by the party's constitution which endows such powers upon the National Executive Council. Democracy spoke and we should honour it as our cardinal founding principle which is the bedrock of MDC. No given single human being has the prerogative responsibility to violate the provisions of the constitution. The absence of Tsvangirai from the scene does not mean the end of the party. The simple message which makes him illogical is his inability to employ reasoning in coming up with functional decisions which prop-up our democratic entity.

Certainly if he chose violence to resolve issues in the party, that is a misnomer and gross violation of the elementary tenets of democracy. And as a party we cannot condone that level of anarchy. The respectable thing Tsvangirai can do is to pull-out quietly and become a party confidante who advises the party from behind the scenes. The more he continues bickering, the more he exposes his acute mental deficit which displays his semi-literacy.

I urge all democrats to join hands and explore all legal possibilities which keep Tsvangirai outside the party leadership anymore for the good of our future political prospects. He is the only asymmetrical element that is causing chaos in the party.

In this post-Tsvangirai era we need to set-up a commission of enquiry to probe the beatings of people at Harvest House instituted by Morgan Tsvangirai on innocent party members. Justice should take precedence over everything else as we move forward. All the perpetrators and their commanders should answer for their actions. We shouldn't allow this to pass unnoticed because we risk cultivating wrong morals amongst our people as such vices are likely to recur oftenly between now and then.

Therefore, to nip these devilish acts in the bud, let's seek justice. If it incriminates Tsvangirai, let him answer for his rot. Let's bear in mind that as a party we subscribe to the ideals of the rule of law, equality, observation of human rights, liberty, freedom of expression and solidarity amongst other critical fundamentals. We need to cultivate the correct culture in the party as opposed to appearing as an organisation which gets away with murder with impunity.
