Economically Educate to Economically Empower

09 Jul 2014 at 10:25hrs | Views
Amidst the economic hardships, Zimbabweans have emerged, not only as entrepreneurs but also as diligent ones too. If it had not been for the Zimbabweans' entrepreneurial minds, the hyperinflation and economic downturn of the last decade and a half, would have been totally deserted.

The hard working entrepreneurs have made ends meet to put food on the tables, and the Zimbabwean engine running.

I believe that the future of this country lies with the same entrepreneurs who have created employment when others have had to retrench and continued to grow profitably, in a shrinking economy.

I am talking about micro, small to medium enterprises.

Regardless of the challenges that they face in raising capital and running the businesses professionally, micro, small to medium enterprises have developed interesting businesses in agriculture, production, fashion and design and information technology.

The empowerment of these economic drivers will translate to the empowerment of the economy and the people of Zimbabwe.

I have since come up with a proposal, Economically Educate to Economically Empower, a project that sets out to assist micro, small to medium enterprises to raise capital, organise their businesses in order to operate efficiently and effectively.

This project will ensure that the entrepreneurs are able to access these services at minimal cost. Economically Educate to Economically Empower has now been nominated for the Youth Citizen Entrepreneurship Competition - an international contest launched by The Goi Peace Foundation, Stiftung Entrepreneurship (Berlin) and UNESCO.

In order to proceed to the next level, the project has to be voted for. I am now appealing for your votes.

If you believe with me that this project is the key to unlocking Zimbabwe's economic potential, then read more on it and vote on: #sthash.0Egs8RcW.dpuf">https://www.youth-competition.org/groups/entrepreneurship-competition-2013/contests/2/1359
