Chiyangwa shooting

The truth and nothing else but the truth about the article on Joe Chinangwa, aka Chiyangwa, which appeared on Bulawayo24 website on 12 July 2014, refers.
I am not the spokesperson of the cited Govt institution, neither am I a lapdog nor apologist. I happen to know the correct circumstances under which Joe sustained his gunshot wounds.
Contrary to your article that he was shot by CIO, a Police report indicates that Chinangwa accidentally shot himself with his firearm at his Burnside home on 12 July when he slipped, severely fracturing his shin bone in the process.
The circumstances are that on the fateful night, Joe says that he was awakened by his son who indicated that four intruders were in the property intent on breaking in and thieving. To wade off the intruders, Chinangwa armed himself with his firearm. Since he was in a rush, he slipped and accidentally discharged the firearm, resulting in his injury below the knee.
That is Chinangwa's story.
However, authoritative sources allege that Joe has of late been under tremendous stress due to poor performance of his businesses. This has culminated in him developing suicidal tendencies, which according to medical science are behaviours associated with individuals undergoing extreme psychosocial challenges.
On the day in question, Joe had been threatening to commit suicide using the said firearm. When family members tried to disarm him, a scuffle ensued resulting in the weapon dropping to the ground and accidentally discharging.
That is how he sustained his injuries. If the former is the case, one hopes that he has learned his lesson: Easy does it. You rush, you smash! If it is the latter, suicide is no solution. One should be man or woman enough to face their challenges head-on. Seize the bull by its horns! That's life.
