MDC-T on economy scare mongering

31 Jul 2014 at 08:36hrs | Views
Now it makes sense why honourable Dzikamai Mavhaire reminded MDC-T's National Organising Secretary, Nelson Chamisa, that government business is far aloof to cooking sadza. This follows Chamisa's remarks that President Robert Mugabe is out of touch given his sentiments that the economy is on a recovery path.

The MDC-T, besides being reminded that it brought down the economy, should also acclaim the fact that any positive movement with regards to the economic revival in Zimbabwe is a success story given the nose dive it took in the past decade.

If there is anyone who should keep quite, in terms of delivering to the citizens of Zimbabwe, it is the MDC-T. They unceremoniously walked out of the GNU with nothing to show for their efforts to deliver to the nation.

Indeed, we need to have the industries up and running and I am sure when Chamisa meant it is not showing, he meant just that. However, the economy has a lot of facets and they complement each other. It is, therefore, a myopic blunder on the part of Chamisa to deny acknowledgement of any improvement with regards to the economy.

MDC renewal team leader, Tendai Biti, recently acknowledged that Zimbabwe is better off under the stewardship of President Mugabe than Tsvangirai whom he labelled Gumbura following a spat of his misgivings with women.

Biti clearly testified on the mismanagement on the part of Tsvangirai whom he accuses of showering his women with monies whilst failing to settle bills. Indeed, it is your officials at MDC-T, Chamisa, who are out of touch with the suffering of ordinary Zimbabweans as you go on to marry, paying out hundreds of thousand dollars as well as covering your infidelity and immorality by again paying out hundreds of thousand of dollars.

Biti bemoans the dysfunction of the Tsvangirai kitchen cabinet saying: "I do not know why Tsvangirai is coming up with a shadow cabinet because it is not doing anything. They are only following Tsvangirai across the country and  addressing rallies while not proffering solutions for the ailing economy. In any case, the shadow cabinet is full of people who failed to deliver during the inclusive government."

Chamisa, the game of pointing fingers will only lead to the MDC-T being on the receiving end of the tussle. It is noble and wise to look to the common good of the country and have the economy up and running again.

Unity of purpose and patriotism will bring back bread and butter to the tables of many Zimbabweans. As long as the opposition, MDC-T, continues bickering out of context, it will intensify the divisive influence of the West.

It will justify the West's evil and its unfounded antics against Zimbabwe. If the MDC-T and its supporters do not realise it now, that there is more to life than just politicking, then we will remain in the abusive hands of the imperialists.

Foolishness comes with the repeated application of the same tactics, thereby yielding negative results. MDC-T should just give the wild goose chase a break and redirect its efforts towards the national well being.
