It's do or die for Bosso, Dembare

NOTHING beats the Highlanders versus Dynamos fixture in Zimbabwe. It is actually one of the biggest matches south of the equator with millions of Zimbabweans across the globe keen to know the results. Talent scouts will also turn their attention on the game to watch the boys in action.
Gone are the days when a player would rise shoulders above the rest. Days when spectators would be given value for money with some outstanding performance from players and referees.
The time when players would play for the fans and end the match with a handshake regardless of the result, and some stay overnight with friends to sample Bulawayo nightlife is gone. Many players made serious claims for the Soccer Star of the Year award from matches such as this afternoon's clash at Barbourfields Stadium. The reason being that even the travelling journalists from outside Bulawayo would get to watch a Bosso player in his own environment rising to the occasion.
The DeMbare star would also prove on foreign soil that he is the best and would literally endorse himself among the 11 Castle Lager Soccer Star of the Year finalists.
Sadly fans have been treated to mediocrity over the years something which must change.
Today's clash has so much at stake. Who ever wins will enjoy a three point lead over the other as both are tied on 32 points. There is no better way in cementing one's championship credentials than beating your most fierce rival.
The call however is on the "Thathankawu Brigade" to spare a thought for genuine food lovers, sponsors and the players, not forgetting those that have laboured behind the scene to ensure the game takes place.
Football should stay a family environment with kids coming forward to claim their birthrights from an early age without fear of violence.
There is no better unifier in the world than the most popular game - football. Those keen to spoil the broth should stay away and let us watch the game in a sporting environment.
That starts with you and me waking up this morning with the right attitude that the game should be the winner out of our involvement in whatever capacity today.
Foul language, songs insinuating any - isms are for imbeciles that do not deserve to be allowed anywhere near our stadia.
It is high time fans policed themselves and it should be incumbent upon each and everyone to worry about the safety of the man or woman sitting to you. If we refuse to tolerate any barbaric ways then we will have a safer football environment with like minded people keen to see brand Zimbabwe football grow.
On the ball and off the ball let us all play a part and to the players as fans we would like to see them embrace gamesmanship to allow referees the best of Saturday afternoons at Barbourfields Stadium.
Let the better team win and its fans celebrate peacefully.
To losers there is always next time, the challenge is on you to up the tempo and tactics in future.
