To President Mugabe the cup is full to overflow, you failed to rig economic recovery step down now

"DARWENDALE farmer David Passapoorts and his wife Anne are reportedly battling for life at different private hospitals in Harare after they were allegedly attacked and left for dead by unknown assailants at their Chirawanoo game farm on Monday evening," read Bulawayo24 report.
"Sources said they suspect the attack could have been politically motivated as it came shortly after top Zanu-PF officials in Mashonaland West province had threatened to evict the remaining white farmers."
We in the Zimbabwe Social Democrats condemn the attack on anyone and call upon the Police to find those responsible and make sure they are brought before the courts and punished for their crime.
We condemn this act even more if this was a politically motivated crime to gratify the insatiable appetite for looted wealth and to further Zanu PF's selfish political agenda. In the past these farm invasions have always flared up as a cover for the party's use of wanton violence against its political opponents and/or the nation at large.
President Mugabe rigged the 2013 elections but when the Western countries refused to accept the elections as legitimate it immediately became clear that unless the Mugabe regime can rig economic recovery too, it hold on power was going to be tenuous, to say the last. After a year of frantic begging to raise the $ 27 billion for the regime's ZimAsset recovery plan, the regime has failed to raise even a dollar. Not even its tradition allay China has contributed even one Yuan.
The only way to end the serious economic meltdown affecting the nation is for this Mugabe regime to step down so that free, fair and credible elections can be held. Only a regime emerging from such elections will have the people's mandate without the political baggage this regime has to implement the tough reforms required and it will have the confidence of the international donors to fund the recovery plan.
Last month Zanu PF acknowledged the party had failed to find a solution to the economic meltdown and announced that it was willing to hold talks with other stakeholders. Sadly the party has since changed its position preferring to sit the economic meltdown. This has been unwise as the economic meltdown has shown no signs of going away but shows every sign of getting even worse. And the people are feeling it!
"There is a high demand for passports in Zimbabwe as people are leaving to escape the economic crisis the country is facing," Registrar General Tobaiwa Mudebe, who heads the passport department, told a parliamentary committee in July.
Zimbabwe is issuing as many as 3 000 passport a day.
Millions of our people have already left the country to escape the economic hardships and political repression and now hundreds of thousands are ready to follow in the footsteps. Millions would leave if they had a free choice.
Millions of those who are in Zimbabwe and cannot leave for whatever reasons are facing a real grim future of worsening economic hardships and increased political repression. With the murder of the beating of the Darwendale, the njambanja war drums are beating again to instil fear in all.
Zimbabwe's economic ruin that has left millions living in abject poverty and despair and the political culture of fear and murder did not start a year ago or ten years ago; they can be traced back to 1980 and beyond. This has been a long match down the road of destruction and madness to gratify the insatiable hunger for power and wealth at the expense of millions denied their basic rights and human dignity.
Enough is enough! The cup is full to overflow!
We in the Zimbabwe Social Democrats once again call on President Mugabe and his Zanu PF in the name of justice and the name of God to listen to reason and step down now before the ticking health and/or social time-bombs explode and overwhelm us all. This regime has failed to end the economic meltdown and they is no need for the nation to suffer any more because of its own failure and to gratify ego and greed of the ruling elite.
