The only hope for Zimbambe

For the past 34 years under ZANU PF misrule, most people of Zimbabwe have never enjoyed the fruits of independence even though they participated in the liberation struggle one way or the other. Mugabe's main legacy is divide and rule according to tribal lines. Mugabe has successfully used tribalism and racism to cling on to power. He has made shonas to be a super tribe that dominates everything in Zimbawe, while Ndebeles are deputies and vices. Harare is now everything and everything is Harare. I am not going to dwell much on the mass destruction committed by ZANU PF on the economy, politics and people's daily lives because this is found in each and every article in newspapers and other forms media forums.
The recently ended conferences of both Women and Youth has been reported as marred by vote buying rigging, intimidation, kidnappings and coercions you name it. This is typical of Zanu tactics of operation. It is interesting to note that what goes around comes around because such tactics are mainly applied against opposition. The 90 year old Mugabe has failed to groom a successor while he still had time and unknowingly or knowingly he has created a monster that he is failing to tame, factionalism. The divide and rule concept of Mugabe's rule is now manifesting itself inside Zanu pf. It is only now that complaints about Zezurus occupying powerful positions both in government and the party are coming to the surface. Factionalism could be playing on Mugabe's favour temporally but it is a dangerous ticking bomb as leaders are aligning themselves with their preferred candidates to take over once Mugabe leaves office dead or alive.
The congress has been earmarked for December and Mugabe has shown no signs of giving up power. This only spells doom for the party but provides a golden opportunity for the country should Mugabe become incapacitated or die in office. This where Zanu pf will explode and tear itself apart. As a norm they will resort to killing and kidnapping each other as their slogan say ‘Zanu ndeyeropa'. If this becomes the case Zimbabwe will be ungovernable and each and every individual will know where they come from. If the chaos is to be contained the country will have to be ruled by a consensus consisting of civil society with proper representation from each region. The constitution will have to be fully implemented especially the devolution of power before any elections are to be held. Zanu pf ihambwa hoku, idonti engagezwa itshene!
